Chicago Coffee Shop question

My girlfriend is doing a little market research and wanted me to check with you guys who frequent indie coffee shops. I know CoffeeGuy on here has his own shop so feel free to chime in with some info. Do any of the indie shops have any wall mounted TV's? Someone that's she's worked with in the past is promoting a new indie shop channel almost by showing some smaller coffee company's advertising, some indie music.. basicly promoting the indie feel. Has anyone seen these displays at any of the smaller shops they frequent?

Actually, the ones I visit usually focus on reading material, puzzles, and art... I have yet to see a tv in any of them.

Good luck with the research!

Indie/Independant = Not Starbucks/Caribou

I agree with esme - the ones I go to are full of hipster d-bags and worldly pursuits. No TV's to be found.

If any of you are ever in Dundee... stop by Puzzle Dust Cafe... they have the best cafe food in the area... their creative lattes are delicious and the pastries and gellato make it worth your time... that's it... I'm going there for lunch!!!

Now... strawberry chicken salad or portabello mushroom panini???

You guys got it right - independent shops that aren't big chain stores.

As for the hipster d-bags and worldly persuits, it would be advertising by people who support said d-bags and such on these TV's as well as their theme songs. I've never seen them, but I don't really go do coffee shops and if I do it's a starbucks or something of the like.

True story! We have 2 of their mounts in out apt and we love them. Let me know if anyone needs a mount (articulating, tilting, simple wall hanging) for their flat panel TV's... www.peerlessmounts.com

Most don't, and I don't think the crowd would be interested. I however love TVs, so I think it's a good idea.

Starbucks as it is a block from the crib and I LOVE those damn breakfast sandwiches

I hang there from time to time - The one on Rush Street is like a small club - Chicks EVERYWHERE and the outside portion in the summer is GREAT for fur trapping

North + State Starbucks is always good for wool watching too.

I came here to drink some beer and kick some ass. And it looks like we are all out of beer.
