hmmmmm.....Vcook, this just might be the right set to step up from the good 'ol 42" ED:

negative houston, I love my 42 and see no need to upgrade. I just head to the basement and use the front projector for my big screen fix.

Ah, I forgot about your media room. I'm still using the 42 Panny as my only set in the house, so a jump to 1080p would be nice.

the size jump would be nice, but image difference at 42" between 480p and 1080p when sitting 10' away is pretty minimal. I'd go for the 58" panny, that's a nice PDP.
