Dinos Alive! at Brookfield Zoo

We went to check out the dinos today. It was really cool. Well worth the $5 a person. ($3 for kids) I took some pics, I will work on uploading them in a bit. The little one LOVED it. One of them roared just as she walked up to pose for a picture, and she just about crapped her pants. You can control 4 or 5 of them with remote control boards, much like the old big traxx toys. You put in a series of motions and then hit a start button. It then preforms the commands, including head movements, roaring, moving its arms and tail. There is a small dino shopping area, and a new restaurant/grill for the season. There is also a huge dino in front of the main fountain that moves and spits water at random times. http://www.brookfieldzoo.org/czs/Abo...inosaurs-Alive!

We are on spring break, so no school. Abi and I did a drama at our church, so today was a celebration of it being over. We've worked for over 6 weeks on the program and them preformed it for 3 nights, to over 1700 people. Yesterday didn't get out of jammies all day, today was zoo day!!! My parents love the zoo so they came with us. The cook county libraries have free zoo passes, so you just pay parking, and for any extras you decide to do.

I been thinking about taking my nephew there to check it out. At 5 years of age, u think it might be too much for him? He loves batman and the jurrasic park movies. But catching that live/animated is another story. I think he would like it.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

There were kids about that age without any problem. Abi got startled because the one she stepped in front of had not moved for a LONG time so we thought it was a stationary one, and just as she stepped in front of it (her back to it) it roared and started moving. It was classic, she laughed about it after she realized she wasn't being eaten. She also rides a very scary ride at Disney called Dinosaur where the dino at the end tries to eat you, so I think she flashed back to that.

Making Disney cracks in Mandy's thread is the best way not to get invited to Bacon Explosion 2 : The Ultimate Dead Pig Roll.

Thanks for sharing! Looks like I'll be taking my 4 year old there! I actually work on the same floor as a bunch of Palentologists sp? and they always have cool fossils and dinosaur bones at the office. Once in a while I ask to take pics with them for my son...my boys get a kick out of it!

The attached pic is of a real dino head....I touched it to move it towards me more and got totally yelled at! Like NO DON'T TOUCH THAT...I guess the oils in our skin are bad for the bones. Needless to say I haven't asked to take a pic with anything in a while! HAHAHAHAHAHA
