Parking inner loop

Curious where people park when they commute to work inner loop. Work around Daley Ctr and trying to figure out decent, "safe" bike parking options, preferably near tie-down points.

Any suggestions appreciated.

You are going to have to pay. I work in the loop along with about 20 other members and you usually wont find any safe free parking for ur bike. I park mine in a pay lot.

Fair nuff. Do you typically do garages or street level lots?

Don't expect your bike to last to long doing that. You will get a ticket quicker than sh!t. If she is parking it for the day it will be cheaper to pay for parking than pay for a ticket.

I would never trust that somebody will pull out without knocking my bike over. I try to park as far away from the general population as possible.

I've heard too many horror stories about fetching bikes and scooters out of city lock.

Its easier to park outside the downtown area where its free and jump on the train.

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

Only good deal I found so far: Corner of Van Buren and Wabash. Underground heated parking for motorcycles $8 daily on weekdays, $12 on weekends.

Park in the free parking area in the Lakeview/Lincolnpark area..east side of Broadway on Barry, Briar etc..then CTA it downtown. Quick enough.

I would think public transit would be cheaper than dishing out $16 a day for parking.

It is, what he's leaving out is that we're thinking of doing a road trip and it will be faster to ride in and then ride out of the city and meet up south of town than it will be to take the train back to the burbs then deal with traffic on the tri-state.

Yea this is not a full time deal. I normally take the Metra in. Just curious for the occasional ride in.

I see people park their bikes in the side streets near the UIC campus (East). I don't remember seeing medallions, but not 100% sure. I saw someone park their bike on the campus (near a bike rack behind a lecture center). Bike was parked there every day for like 2 or 3 weeks and one day the bike had a ticket on the gas tank.

found 2 bikes parked in the alley behind emerald loop bar and grill. its by harold washington college on lake and wabash. saw 2 bikes there. plus its a narrow way so getting towed would not be an option

This is going to be a long-term relationship

I saw the spot on lake about 1/2 a block east of Wabash. That was a decent spot. Free and in a decent location.

Just because you see a bike parked in an alley or in a nook doesn't mean its legal. Most likely the person works there or is only parking for a little bit. It is just a matter of time before you get towed or ticket if you think you are getting over. (I can't beleive I just said that since i am the biggest bender ok breaker of rules or laws lol)

There are a couple of spots on Franklin near monroe and Adams that people park for free. We see it during out loop lunches. All I am saying is be smart about it and always lock ur sh!t up. Its very easy to get ur stuff stolen in the city.

One other spot I've seen is Randolph/Canal. Google even has some skoots parked there on their street view.

I'm with G2G on this. I don't like to leave my bike parked far from where I'll be especially unattended. Someone (thief) sees you jump on a bus or train, they know they can snatch your bike in peace knowing you won't be back for a while.

I work near the Daley center and a couple of the surface lots I could park at are no longer there because they built/building on them. If you want to park in a surface lot, you may have to walk it from Wabash and Congress area.
