Can you suggest a lawyer (personal injury)

I have a friend who needs a personal injury lawyer. Her mother (she's in her 80s) fell. The place where she fell insisted that she get checked out at the hospital and called 911. There was a step that is not visable. I know that several people have reported the step, and ask them to mark it with some yellow paint, or a reflective stripe. She is the 3rd person to fall here. For the last 6 months all they ask was for her co-pay to be paid, and the step to be marked. Now the company is not returning her calls, even though they have promised to "take care of this matter". She is wanting to talk to a laywer and see if she can get them to pay her medical bills. Anyone have any suggestions?

Go get pictures of the step. Is it inside of a building? Is it part of the sidewalk?

It is part of an outside walkway, a long walkway with a single step in the middle. The crazy thing is there is a handicap sign at the bottom, making you think it is a ramp. Then all of a sudden there is a step. It is on an angle, and when you are walking away from the building you cannot see it at all. Even the mail lady has fallen on this step. I almost bit it, but caught myself. I took pictures for her already

It was a walkway leading up to an apartment building, in a huge complex, so I'm sure it was private property. I believe it is in cook county, but that might be will.
