Insurance company called me today...

The bike was claimed a total loss... The bike wasnt in that bad of a accident... But i think the swingarm had some damages so they decided to total the bike... They're towing the bike tomorrow and gonna call me back to tell me how much it'll cost to buy it back... This really blows...

Correct me if I'm wrong........

Aren't you the same guy who said that your bike was stolen, then recovered and the insurance said they will not cover anything on it?

So why are they TOTALLING the bike and towing the bike and making you pay for taking it back?

I'm a bit confused.

That guy had an R-6, I think this is the guy that got rear-ended with the balloons.

Aren't Illinois residents prohibited from buying back their insurance salvage? Think you need to have a special license.

Yes- By law you must be a state licensed cycle rebuilder to buy a IL Salvage titled bike.

Don't think anything would stop said licensed rebuilder from reselling to anyone they want though???

Im mad only because i only had this bike for 17 days when i got hit... Its my first bike and basically my summer was ruined from this due to having a fractured spine... Im not sure about the laws in Illinois buying a totalled bike, but the insurance company has already offered me to buy the bike back... Sticky is correct, the guy MeggyGixxer was talking about was the R6 guy...

LOL. I had to laugh when I read this. I also wouldn't mind if the F3 got damaged beyond repair just so long as I'm not hurt.

Sorry my confusion. But I agree with the rest.. you can't buy your bike back after it was totaled unless you have a dealer license.

Well you cant buy it back, but you can except a reduced settlement price to be able to keep the bike. The loan company wont like you doing it if its financed

I am kind glad i dont have to ride that bike anymore cuz i dont feel safe if the swingarm is bent... But this is my first bike and it kinda grew on me altho i didnt really want the bike in the first place... This was the only bike i could get considering my credit history... I am financing the bike, so i doubt i'll buy it back due to the swingarm...
