US Freddie Mac chief found dead

Hope rest of the fuckers follow suit

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8012527.stm

Quote:
The acting chief financial officer of struggling US mortgage giant Freddie Mac has been found dead, police say.

Fairfax County Police said there was no foul play suspected in the death of David Kellermann, found in his home 20km (13 miles) west of Washington DC.

The 41-year-old had been Freddie Mac's chief financial officer since September, having worked for the company for 16 years.

Police did not confirm reports that he had committed suicide

wife told the press that he commited suicide, Then they stopped playing that on the news. Also a police officer told the press that there was no fowl play, and that it was a suicide. The corners office then came forward and said they are the only ones that can determine cause of death, and neither of the above to are authorized to say anything about the cause of death.

The thing is, the guy's only been the CFO since Sept... Freddie Mac's problems were rooted LONG BEFORE then, so is he really culpable for the mess?

FYI - Fairfax County is a crooked county like Cook. The politics you mention does not surprise me.

He was in the mix for a long time.

Quote:
David Kellermann was named acting chief financial officer in September 2008. Kellermann is a member of the company's leadership team and reports directly to CEO David M. Moffett.

As acting chief financial officer, Kellermann is responsible for the company's financial controls, financial reporting, tax, capital oversight, and compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley. He also oversees the company's annual budgeting and financial planning processes.

Prior to this role, he served as senior vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer. In this position, his primary responsibility was to support the business with the production of timely, accurate, and well-controlled GAAP, fair value and segment earnings financial statements and external disclosures.

Before that, Kellermann served as the senior vice president and business area controller. As business area controller, he led the organization responsible for all accounting and finance for Freddie Macís lines of business.

Kellermann has been with Freddie Mac for more than 16 years. He began as a financial analyst/auditor in 1992, worked for several years in the company's securities sales and trading unit, and has served in a variety of positions in the company's capital markets division, most recently serving as vice president strategy execution and integration and the Investments and Capital Markets division controller.

Probably one of the key contributors, he was the CFO since Sept. but I'm sure he had a high ranking position prior to Sept. and probably was quite aware of what was going on.

As a top accountant, I'm sure he had some hand in the accounting scandals that plagued Freddie.

Agreed and there are two contributing factors to this:

1.) I don't feel bad or sorry for any of the 'top dogs' that made multi-millions at our expense so when one of them kicks the bucket or has an assistance in getting their bucket kicked = K2 Happy

2.) I haven't had a home cooked meal in 2 days

So would do you think killed/had him killed? Suicide seems unlikely. I doubt it's like the movies where suddenly people grow a conscious and he just couldn't live with himself anymore.

There are evil people in this world that need killin'. If there wasn't we wouldn't need a military, would we? Every one of the bastards that profitted greatly on the collapse of peoples savings and retirements needs to be reckoned with, harshly.

I don't know if this guy was a part of it but he must have thought he was. I guess a conscience can be a bitch sometimes.

Our expense? Who do you want to blame? It's always easier to blame someone rather than the people that spends out of their means. They look like the poor bitches that lost their homes when they should have known better than to buy such a home.

Don't give me the shit about being suckered into a loan. Again it goes back to the responsibility of the person purchasing the home to read through the documents they are signing. If they don't understand it then get someone that does that you can trust.

It's like me wanting you to sign something in Latin and you believing what I say instead of having someone that can understaind interpret it for you.

Not to take away from the thread but this is so true.

I was getting my hair cut on Monday and I was listening to the lady cutting my hair tell her friends about how her house was getting foreclosed on. She had an ARM, etc, etc. She starts to brag to her friends that it was a 250K home and she just couldn't afford it. Um, yeah, a hair stylist working at Cost Cutters buying a 250K home. Makes A LOT of sense to me. How could people like this have gotten these loans?? It blows my mind. Call me callous but I hold people like this just as responsible as the shit head politicians, bankers, appraisers, etc, etc that got us in this mess.

None of these guys will ever go to "pound you in the ass prison." At best they would go to a nice white collar prison which is prolly like staying at a Holiday Inn express. ...and guess who pays their rent. Sounds more like a "pound OUR ass ...AGAIN" prison.

I'm going with conspiracy theory on this one. This guy's life was never going to get so bad that suicide was a better way out. This guy knew too much, and prolly didn't agree to the "plan." Nobody likes a rat.
