Anyone work at Home Depot? Or other such store? Electronics too.

Decided on the house we're buying (contingent on some village stuff, but looks very good). So, we have a lot to buy at one time, and looking for anyone that:

a.) can possibly provide an employee discount

or

b.) could provide a great deal

and/or

c.) works on commission or something of the such, would like to buy from someone somewhat "known" vs any stranger. Would like to help fellow riders out in bad economy. Hopefully they could help us out too.

Things to buy include items for bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel, furniture for many of the rooms, etc. If anyone does custom woodwork that'd be great too (desks/bookshelves/etc).

(**mods, hope its ok I posted here, have a similar but different thread in Home Imporvement forum, but I think this might be more applicable here + more visiblity, please move if necessary**)

It's not a done deal yet, still need to wait on some village stuff...but the decision has been made to proceed...so we're happy.

Get a part time job there, then you get an employee discount.

We had a basement flood (frozen pipe) about 4 months ago. First water damage in like 15 years. Anyway, we bought a bunch of stuff at Home Depot to fix it, and just asked for the contractors discount, and they gave it. Thats a good tip. Most likely we will go the same if we decide to buy from them. It will all depend. We have a set budget and need to break it down per room now...so best deal wins...and sort of afraid they might not give us the discount again, but we'll ask beforehand anyway...in fact, you just motivated me to go over there after work and ask. Thanks.

And sometimes they take the taxes off too. My g/f did that, then I biotched her out for it. bad enough, her taxes are complicated as it is.

they have a contractors website link on homedepots webpage. might be able to sign up.

Might be worth checking out. I do not have any personal experience with it, but they advertise enough.

I sell building material products(windows, doors, etc.) to them. They are not the most cost effective way to go. They charge a hefty membership fee.
