Lanesplitting Ticket

Anyone get one? How much is it? I know the cop could probably throw on a reckless driving charge or something but let's assume it's just a ticket strictly for lanesplitting. Is that improper lane usage or something? Not that I would ever encourage illegal behavior like that but let's just hypothesize for a moment...

My buddy got one here in Indiana for "improper lane change" in this WS6 Trans Am..I believe it was like $180-200 after all said and done.

I've asked that question before: https://www.chicagolandsportbikes.com...ad.php?t=55384

Sounds like it's $75. IMO, it's more dangerous and you have a higher likelihood of getting a ticket in suburbs, but in the city they don't care and at the very low speeds it's reasonably safe.

Is going around traffic on the right side considered lane splitting or is there another law beauce of proximity to the shoulder/emergency lane?

Had a debate about this the other day...now that its warm enough to ride to work.... not sure I want to sit in bumper to bumper traffic though...lol

See the post I linked. It's "Improper shoulder usage". The fine is the same as the "Improper lane usage".

Going around traffic on on the right side is also illegal

Violation = passing on the right

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

If the cop is in a bad mood, he'll give you can a ticket for "exiting the roadway". It was cheaper for me to mail in the fine rather than challege it.

I wouldn't do it most places, but splitting through the backups in the "express" lanes to and from work is just sooo tempting.

Lane splitting was one of the reasons I loved living in CA. Cut major time off my commutes.

What about getting rear ended in traffic? I'd rather go 5-10mph faster than traffic on the left or right hand side.

But I'm really afraid of getting rear ended. Especially since every moron gets on their cell phone when traffic halts.

If you are stopped at a light, I don't see the danger in splitting to get to the front. The only problem is the douchebags that get pissed when you are splitting. One guy pulled out in front of me b/c he was pissed. No other reason, traffic was moving really slow.

I advocate lane splitting. Be safe, constantly scan ahead, always have an exit and watch your speed.

This has happened to me many times. I just ignore most drivers, even if their car has the red and blues on top. Lane slitting is good for me, you, car drivers, the economy and the environment. Lane splitting never clubbed a baby seal either.
