Chances are she was on her phone and didn't even notice.

I had some dizzy broad almost hit me head on the other day, she was looking for...something and just not looking forward and drove right head on into my lane. I didn't even slow down, I figured she had good insurance to go along with her 80k Mercedes. But she pulled her head out of her arse last second and pulled into her lane, giving me a dirty look like I shouldn't even be on the road.

I know she had her daughter in the car. And all I can see when I got closer was waving arms.

maybe "mom, wtf, you ran over furry squirrel"

I know when its someones dog, such an incident is a lot more significant.

It's a freaking squirrel! Who cares that she ran it over. I would have done the same thing and not given it a second thought other than hoping it's guts weren't on my car.

i think when you swerve or brake you throw off the squirrel's timing. last time i swerved i still hit the squirrel. last time i hit the brakes i rolled a chipmunk. felt like shit both times. now i do nothing and hope they know what they are doing.

OK so she should ha swerved, lost control and rolled over killed her and anyone in the vehicle? Or hit an oncoming car head on? Slammed the brakes on only to get rearended and then having people like you bitch and moan about being stuck in a traffic jam because someone hit their brakes? Its safer to just HIT wildlife with a car than trying to swerve to avoid it.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I believe in drivers ed they always told you to go with the flow rather then serving or slamming on the brakes.

Drivers ed teacher said ill take out the animal before ill have a car/truck rammed up my ass any day

I would read my wife the riot act if she ever swerves or slams the brakes for something that small. 2 months ago, some local gal swerved to avoid a dog, went off the road, flipped over and into a pond where her two kids strapped into their car seats drowned. She lived.

2 lessons...

1) No animal is worth your family's life (well...unless you dislike your family)

2) Keep a seatbelt cutter in an easily accesible spot inside your car.

On an unrelated note... I once ran over a city rat the size of a possum on halsted just north of division... on the old gixxer. The wife looked back and actually saw the fawker dragging itself away. We walked 1 block back and it was gone. Beware of crack rats!!!

"It's not the size of a dog in a fight... It's the size of fight in a dog..."

no traffic in the other lane, i was behind her maybe 5 lengths and I started slowing down due to my fighter pilot skillz.

I do know the drivers ed stuff. I do that when theres a yellow light. 99% of the time, keep going to prevent a rear end collision. (eventhough, this maybe a ticket)

Its bad when you expect someone to go on a yellow and they slam on their brakes and this is before all the red light camera crap.

How do you run over a squirrel? Anytime ive ever gotten near one in my truck, it was just instantly off the road and a tree before I would of hit it were it was. Cant even come close.

I ran over a squirrel with my Civic the other day.... I didn't know it was on the passenger side.... because you know I was on the driver's side..... and from what I heard from my passenger, it looked "fresh" and "juicy" and I probably had blood all over my car.

.... poor squirrel.
