I may actually go the day of the race and buy tix there if I go. Last year I bought the 3 day pack and it was a little too long. It seemed that there were many seats that did not sell and many folks selling tix outside the racetrack. It was a blast but just going on race day will be fine with me.

Shelly what hotels did you check out? I searched a few weeks ago and found a ton of open rooms for that weekend. I found one that was walking distance to the stadium.

I don't remember the names but I used hotels.com. A ton were open for that weekend.

Anyone know how to register for camping? I found the info about which sites are available but I can't figure out how to reserve a site.

OK...I'll post up as I call hotels in the area.

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...iott-downtown/

About 5 miles from the track

Marriott downtown...I just asked if they had several rooms available...they have at least 5 rooms with 2 double beds. $219.95/night

It would definitely be more fun if a bunch of us stayed in the same hotel

thanks Dani!

Jameson Inn is the one that I heard is right by the Speedway. Hotels.com says they have rooms available for all weekend for $166/night. No idea how nice it is tho.

Jameson Inn of Indy West
http://www.jamesoninns.com/

Phone: 317-299-6165

Looks decent
3.5 miles from track (Indy west)

They have a lot of rooms (20+) with 2 double beds available for $199 per night right now

If we book several we can get it down to $179 per night

Do we take over this hotel?

Thanks Lori

FYI: they charge 60 days prior to the date due to it being Moto GP, so you card will be charged around the end of June

I'm going, unless something messed up happens. I usually stay at eh Extended stay America outside of indy. Awesome rooms, a pool, and a micro kitchen in there for about 100 bux a night. Its about a 15 min drive to the track from the hotel, so its not bad at all. I could check into it, and see if they have rooms. There is also a cool bar/grille like 2 blocks away that i always go to. Decent food, decent beer list, about 6 pool tables, and dart. Good place to blow some time.

I'm reserving a room at Jamesons Inn but if anyone wants to do camping, let me know. I prefer camping but none of my friends do.

Got a buddy who lives 10 mins from the track - I get his Spare Bedroom for the weekend - I'll ride down Thurs Night and leave Sun Night - Riding and parking in the infield FTMFW - So easy to get in and out

so how is it watching the race? can you see a good part of the track or is it like you see one turn and drink most of the time.

i want to drink, but only to kill a certain few brain cells and i don't care how many i have to take out to get to them.
