Had a friend who carfaxed his own car. He bought it new. 1989 Mustang gt.
3k miles on it. Ran a carfax and found that it had103k. He went ape shit. Called carfax. They had a local office. Villa Park, maybe. He made 2 carfax guys come to his house to inspect the car, and then amend the report. Seems when he had the car emision tested, the mut at the test station put in the wrong milage and never corrected it.

So what's the carfax competitor that had all the info carfax didn't? the article didn't mention who that was.

I googled and I think it's AutoCheck.

No matter what the company, there is gonna be possible discrepancies due to human mistakes i.e. the above example of the guy putting in wrong numbers at the emissions place...
