Wreck on Lake Shore last night?

Anybody hear anything? It was about 10:30pm southbound just after wacker on the right bend.

I pulled over and called it in but the cops just arrived on the scene and told me to beat it. Didn't look good.

Coming back home at 3am they were dragging the bike by its front wheel onto a flatbed.

Coroner: Driver painting nails kills biker
May 3, 2009 6:25 PM | 18 Comments
A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night when a driver, distracted while painting her fingernails, slammed into her at a traffic light near northwest suburban Lake Zurich, authorities said today.
Anita Zaffke, of the 1500 block of Eddy Lane in Lake Zurich, stopped at a yellow light around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Route 12 and Old McHenry Road, but the Chevrolet Impala behind her did not, said Lake County Coroner Richard Keller.

Zaffke, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown about 200 feet from her bike, according to Keller, who added that she died from chest and abdominal injuries about an hour later at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.

"It appears to be a tragic accident and it appears (Zaffke) did nothing wrong," Lake County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott Morrison said. "She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and she could not have done anything to avoid it."

Morrison said the Impala's driver was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and could face additional charges. He did not have her name.

Keller said the driver told authorities she was painting her fingernails before the impact. Morrison said he could not comment on that aspect of the ongoing investigation.

It's f'ing manslaughter, that's it.

People need to realize their piloting a 2 ton battering ram.

DAHHHHH seriously 2 riders down....how many riders have gone down already this season.

REST IN PEACE to these two riders

and remember yall the cages are out to get us. if your riding watch your self. if your caging and see a cager endangering a biker......Protect the biker

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

I guess in the law eye’s. If she had been drinking it might mean something. However, she was just painting her nails. What’s a poor girl to do? I say dead is dead no matter what the circumstances are.

That broad painting her nails is going to paying for the rest of her life. There'll be a big f'in judgment, well beyond what her insurance will pay, and she's going to be on the hook for the rest. It'll have been the most expensive mistake she ever made.

Might not be a prison sentence, but at least the family will get some compensation.

True..... and it would take a day or two before the District / States
Attorney brought forth a charge as severe as manslaughter.
