Bike stand

Does anyone has a bike stand they could let me borrow, I feel like my rear wheel is always slipping under me for some reason and not sure what or why? If you can help checking it out in the Naper area, let me know.

thx

can you be a little more specific. what do u mean my "slipping" on you?

r u talking going into turns and it seems like it wants to slide out on you? have you checked your rear tire for a flat spot on the tire that would cover the center section of the tire from alot of highway riding? sport tires are known for doing this, as it happened to me on the last rear tire i had

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Sorry for not being clear. I had dropped my bike last wknd and only the fairing was damaged. So I take it out again and when I am riding 25-30 mph or higher it feels like it will slip in the rear...kinda a weaving feeling. So I thought to put it up on a stand to see if the rim is bent? So far the tires have 280 miles on em.

I will be in town as of tomorrow night, so you could come over and check it out with my stand if you'd like. I'm far from an expert on bike maintenance/repair, but I do have a rear stand. PM me if you want.

I am local with a bike stand, PM me if you want to stop by. I know the old 250s had a center stand, the new one doesn't?

This may sound stupid, but are your tire pressures correct, and have you checked them recently?

Just starting with the simple solutions first.

I had a similar problem when i went to Wilmetter and drove trough gravel. It felt like the back was slipping to the side, even if i was going straight. My checked the back tire for gravel, removed them, and it felt better.
Also, if youre tires are brand new, i believe some dealerships put some "vaseline" or grease or whatever its called on there, think its sillicon... anyways... to help rub that shit off i used a one of those iron scrub dishy thingy to clean the tires of that stuff.

This is going to be a long-term relationship

I have checked the pressure and it seems okay. Didn't see much gravel stuck on the wheel. I should try scrubbing it off if there is any silicon/vas on it. And Audi I sent you a PM.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing.

Googs, I'm far from a bike tech, but I'm just in Bolingbrook by the Ikea, not far from Dave13 in fact (who is probably also home today the lazy arse!). If you come out our way, we both have bike stands and tools, and decently clean garages to work in.

Just please be very careful if you ride it out to anyones house today. Give the whole bike a good look over, check for anything loose, anything that looks out of alignment. If something is damaged, finding out while on the bike is the worst way to find out I would think!

Located at I355 and 75th street, if you ride it over to my garage we can have a look, i have a rear stand with pads so if you dont' have spools we can still take a look at her...

PM me if you want the address, I'll be home tonight.

Okay I think I am going to take it over to Auditechs today if possible to have it looked at. Since he is the closest to where I live and dont want to risk it too much right now.
