Went to court for ticket (permit no M license)

So went to court today for 2 fucking hours.

Since the state is hurting on money they have uped the priced of $75 tickets to $240 which is what I paid.

Be careful when speeding... it's actually a bit costly now.

No M rating is a bit more serious than speeding.

Fucking cop... makes me mad.

I wasn't speeding/acting like a dick/accelerating fast/ nothing that would warrant a pull over.

Then ran my info and looked for something to get me with... just bothers me.

FFS I told him we just ended a group ride and still wouldn't budge.

True, but... the judge was saying tickets are now going to be higher in price... my ticket was for $75.... and I paid $240.... I think that would mean those small speeding tickets aren't so small now yah?

It said no M classification, but the dollar amount noted on the ticket was $75.

So I can only assume it's not that big of a deal since the cop semi believe me... I also explained how I was setup for my MSF class.... so I have my M class now.

But before the judge started the session he was making note that all the costs have gone up... so a $75 is around $200.

Sucks. :/

I'm pretty sure It's higher because of court costs. Was this a ticket that you could have mailed in or did you have to appear? If you didn't have to appear, you could have just paid the $75 but then of course insurance would know about it.

Also, on a permit you cannot ride at night period. Regardless of whether you are with another rider or not, it is a violation.

I hate illinois law.
You should be able to ride solo on a permit. Its not like you start off with a lot of biker friends (who can ride with you on your schedule) when you get your permit or whatever.

What I dont understand...
You got a ticket for not having an M license, but you do have permit. Why would that cause you to get a ticket. am i misreading this

This is going to be a long-term relationship

Yeah court costs suck ass. I got a ticket speeding in my truck last year in an empty construction zone right after midnight (unmarked police car was speeding too...he got mad that I slightly passed him). They had the automatic 375 fine and he told me to plead guilty to avoid extra costs. I ended up paying 790.

Not flaming here, but you balled your shit up on one of your first rides. And now you are over $1500 in new parts. Probably would have done you some good to have a little more practice with a veteran rider.

I feel your pain ... last August I got pulled over on I-88 doing 75 in a 45 construction zone around Naperville Rd. It was 6:30 a.m. and I was on my way to work for a Sunday meeting. The cop had a total attitude with me and literally was being a huge dick to me for no reason.

Since it was speeding in a construction zone I automatically had to go to court. Judge started the morning off the same way by informing everyone that court costs have dramatically risen over the last year and asked everyone not to waste his time begging for cheaper fines because his hands were tied.

The little sign below the Speed Limit that reads $325 minimum fine ended up translating to a 673 ticket for me! Oh but wait, before I get to drop a FML, I go to my car to get my credit card to pay the clerk (bc I only brought 400 cash with me thinking it wouldn't cost more). Come back, as I'm paying the court I'm listening to the judge sentence a fine for a guy getting his first DUI ... YEAH ASSHOLE only had to pay $321!!! I was outraged!!

NOW I CAN SAY FML!

Rally? - I got out of mine a few weeks back - I got popped on Lakeshore doing 75 in a 45 and they threw it out - Score one for Bug vs The City - But, within the timeframe form then til now, I have received (2) no front plate tickets - BASTIDS!
