Appears someone just shot someone at the Drake

Wife is down there at some fancy pantsy place having people pluck her eye brows and do whatever else to her face (ugh.. what a waste.. I totally need tires)

in any case...
She said Michigan Ave is closed.. Cops are everywhere
and that someone shot someone at the drake.. I think they are still inside from the way she described it.. and someone may be someones.. not sure..

in other news.. some dude binged some other dude in the head with a crescent wrench at the belmont stop of the red/brown line...

I didn't get to see the binking.. but I did get to watch chicagos finest beat the living shit out of the guy "who didn't fuckin do nothin" ...

Sure will miss the city if we leave here...

I just heard tons of Sirens and cops flying down LaSalle and Clark and then heading East - Hmmmm

i have seen threads about him on RC.. but they keep banning him.. Appears genius types who have millions to spend on their systems and design and build their own huge custom equipment are to useful to be allowed on there.. maybe the mods have tank envy? his is bigger than theirs?

From Chicago Tribune

A woman was shot and critically wounded by Chicago police this afternoon just off the Magnificent Mile Downtown, a police spokesman said.

Around noon, officers responded to a call that a man and woman who had earlier been involved in thefts or robberies of downtown stores were recognized in a store near the 900 block of North Michigan Avenue, police said.

When officers arrived, the suspects tried fleeing and, at one point, the woman began struggling with an officer and tried to grab his gun, according to police. The officer then shot the woman in the abdomen.

Two officers suffered minor injuries in the incident and were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, officials said.

A witness, Lucina Mursin, said the struggle occurred as the woman was trying to flee in a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Walton Street at Michigan and she began lurching forward into the intersection.

Mursin said he saw the officer use a chemical spray on the woman and then shoot her when she continued trying to drive the car into the intersection. A man who appeared to have been with the woman ran from the scene, Mursin said.

Another witness said that man came back to the scene and was asking questions about the woman, prompting onlookers to point him out to police. The man was arrested as he tried to walk away in the crowd that gathered at the scene.

Although police did not identify the store where the suspects were recognized, several officers were seen entering Louis Vuitton, a luxury accessory store in the Palmolive Building, and questioning several of the employees.

I hate Cook County with a passion. If I didn't work in Cook, it would be a lot easier for me to avoid.

For example:

I went on a 1 day business trip to Philly to meet with a customer. The 18 hour day sucked enough on it's own, but when I get back to my car at Midway, I find two tickets for expired plates on my windshield. Someone had stolen my registration sticker (father-in-law put it on, didn't remove the old ones). How can they give someone TWO tickets for expired registration when the car didn't even move, especially at an airport!? They probably could have sat there and wrote out 8,574 tickets in the time I was gone. Not only did I have to catch up on work when I got back, but I had to go through the hassle of contesting both tickets.
