wtf?! stupid doc! (and other news from hex)

An 'exciting' month so far, compared to most others when one is unemployed, I got both bikes running, moved to streator, got a job...then the crappy part starts .

A few days after moving down and getting the ascot running, Scott (sister's BF) took it for a test drive after working on it that day. Of course I had to give it a try; Tore off down the street (of course I had to bring the front up a little too ), and then decided to take the 'chicane' in front of my sisters house like my ninja on the way back in. Oh, I forgot to mention that the tires were old and dry-rotted didn't I...

Right at the apex the bike folded under me, and ended up dragging/rolling my right foot under the bike as it dragged. Guess the 2nd 3rd and 4th bones on the top of the foot (connecting to toes) broke, 3rd and 4th were snapped completely and were hanging at a weird angle.

Fast forward 2 weeks to today (or yesterday that is), got surgery for temporary pins...and DAMN is it uncomfortable and hurts! As for the title, stupid doc decides to give me a prescription to the crappy Hydrocodone/apap(acetaminophen) 500mg/5mg vicodins. Stupid because 2 doesn't help a bit, have to take 3-4 as of now to keep it from hurting like hell. Wanted to make sure 4 wouldn't be terrible for me, and apparently you shouldn't be taking more than 4,000 mg of acetaminophen a day, where I'd be at that limit every day taking 2 every 4 hours as of now. I'd assume stronger vicodin, or norco, or morphine pills would have a less APAP compared to the opiads?

Damn Steve, Good to hear about the job and other items, but sorry to hear about your foot. I would call the doc and tell him your pain issues. He should do something about it.

Prune juice for the constipation, ex-lax will just make you gassy.

When it's time to get off the pain meds, take Tylenol or Excedrin. It will help with the withdrawals and headache. Also, you'll shit your brains out when it's time to get off them. 500/5 is kinda weak. Take them as you need them.

Heal up! If you need someone to ride your bike, I can next week hopefully

prune juice?!?! *shudder* that's the nastiest thing i've ever tasted

tom (aka blarney), ascot runs like a champ! even after sitting since my hand was smashed by it, it fired right up with a quick tank/carb cleaning. Still no choke on it since they don't make them anymore, but luckily it doesnt need it ..i'm just glad I never lost that registration to get the title!

Sorry to hear. I'm shocked that's all the drugs you got though. Doctors normally seem to pass out Vicodin, Darvocet and Norco like it's OTC tylenol. Call them up and ask for something stronger. Bobby right about the poop issues. Pain pills fuck up your poop schedule.

Sometimes your knight in shining armor is just a retard wrapped in tin foil.

yeah tell me about it, dealing with the pooping problem after hernia surgery was the WORST

luckily the foot doesn't hurt anymore, lasted about 2 days of pretty intense pain, then nothin lol, I was about to call in kind of pissed when I made this thread, but decided to just wait it out. Sooo, i've now got 100-something vicodins to use for 'headaches'
