Memorial Day weekend racing

It's already Memorial Day!...The Pro Flat track season gets started in earnest with a TT Steeplechase in the rodeo arena on Saturday night and the mile with the worlds fastest dirt on Sunday at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield. If you've never been...you don't know what you're missing!
Anyone going?

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!

I most likely will be there for the race on Sunday with my 12 year old son. We make it at least once a year, twice if family and $$ allows.

Best racing on Earth.

Buddy from work is heading down to race tomorrow. He said Thursday night race in Alexandria and then to Springfield. I might try to make it down to see the mile.

I was there but lost your number

Nothing beats a good night of singles, along with the mile hosting singles and twins! Oh, the sunburn from the Sunday afternoon rays made it a long ride home on 2 wheels.

I saw Nick briefly as I was leaving, he came out of the Supercamp and was asking some of the passing bikers who won and I was just pulling out from where I parked over by the horse pavillion where they have the Supercamp. That would be a great place for a couple of mid-winter indoor short tracks wouldn't it? Spend the extra cash and get seats in the upper grandstand...the view of the overall track is better and it provides a natural sunscreen...shade!.
Do you go to Peoria for the TT?
