Need some weekend getaway ideas

Our wedding anniversary Falls on Thanksgiving this year. We decided to piss off our parents and not be around for the holiday

Anybody got any good ideas as to where to go?

I wan't to keep it under $1000 and I may be willing to do a road trip if I can find a good destination.

This may sound corny but once in awhile the wife and i grab a package deal in Schaumburg for the Medevil Times. Just an overnighter thats pretty fun.

Another pretty cool thing we do is rent a cabin in wisc for the weekend. Has a hot tub and it's a blast! Just do a search for getaway weekend and you would be amazed.

If its in November, i would head south towards the warm weather.

The south east coast is nice around that time of year.

As I said to someone who was investigating something similar....

go on www.applevacations.com, hit your sizzling specials and have a great time.

You can go on a 3 night 4 day mini vacation, all inclusive for $400 to $500 each person based on double occp.

I love Door County, Wisconsin. Four hour ride and lots of cool towns to go shopping in. We have gone up there for the last three years. We are going Aug.12-15 this year to take part in some summer activities upthere for the first time. We stay at the Birchwood Lodge. www.birchwoodlodge.com

There is a twisty road up there to die for. We are riding up there this year and planning on taking that road.

That is also our anniversary weekend also. All I want is a nice BIG BED, Jacuzi, or something like that. Save the outdoor sports for another time.

Yup theres a jacuzi tub and fireplace in your bedroom and the shower is litterally big enough for at least 7 people. Youll come back exhausted

I have a place waaayyyyy up in WI..a couple miles from the UP of MI.. The roads are sweet but maybe thats not what you had in mind on your anniversary

Lots of small towns to do the nic-nac shopping that women seem to love. Me? Its fishing/swimming/biking/beer/adult entertainment
