Passing Etiquette

I was cruising last night(Sat. 5/23 around 2300) on 355 and taking the exit ramp to I55 south when some douchebag on a dark CBR blow passed me at 80 mph. I don't mind people passing me but not on an exit ramp with a single lane at night.
If you're a member here(I hope you're not) I just want to let you know that you didn't impress me you just pissed me off. So here's one for you

Rant over!

a double lane merg ramp at the beginning before it turns into single lanes one thing but a single lane, and let alone at night is a load of shit. that would piss me off.

People need to have common curtesy for their fellow rider and not always need to pass them RIGHT away. DAMN have some paitnace

Glad you ended out okay bro

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

If captain douchebag thinks he's a racer, then you should catch up and demonstrate what a stuff pass is in the next corner.

Do unto others as they have done unto you. but worse.

May i ask what a "stuff pass" is.....sounds kinda harsh....but also kinda fun

I would have caught up to him and given some kind words of advice. That's the kind of move that spooks the hell out of a new rider (or even a seasoned one who is caught off guard) and potentially causes panic situations where people can die.

EDIT: Are moves like those in the video and GIF legal? Seems like the bike equivalent of an "accidental" clipping of a back quarter (PIT maneuver) in Auto racing.

rubbin' is racing. Stuff passes happen all the time. Those were some pretty extreme examples of the technique, but Rossi wasn't penalized, and I don't think DeAngelis was either.

Sounds like this idiot thinks he's a fast racer-boy. If so, then he should no problem getting a taste of real racing. Further, I doubt "kind words of advice" would have any effect on this type of person. All ego, no brain. Typical SOW squid type.

Stuff 'em. Add a little chlorine to the gene pool.

well it was either pass you at 80 mph or do a wheelie. . . jk it wasnt me i wouldve been in the ditch.

i hope no one does that to me cuz i dont always keep at one side of the ramp, cuz im still experimenting whats best on turns. that rider wouldve gotten a nice closeup ... of me.

This is going to be a long-term relationship

By kind words I mean at the next stoplight I get off bike, take out knife, pop his rear tire, get back on bike and ride off. He won't do that again.

I think you did the right thing. Although I would have wanted to catch up to him and shown him a thing or two (assuming that I knew a thing or two) it's safer and better that you didn't.

Yup. People like that often remove themselves from the gene pool without you needing to intervene any.

What an idiot move, should've tailed him to the next stop, waited for him to try to find neutral and delivered a swift kick to his right side. Then run like hell.

There's gonna be douchebags no matter what. Best we can do as a collective group is to agree to ride sensibly and hope the message spreads. Otherwise, if you give jagoffs like the guy who passed you irresponsibly any more press here, then he wins.

Dante: [to Randal] You never go ass-to-mouth!
Randal: [to Dante] Would you grow up!
Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.
