Auto Window Tinting, 50% front legal

I talked to my auto window tinting guy and he mentioned that they are passing a bill to have the front passenger side and driver side windows with 50% tint to be legal. He said, its just waiting with our governor to signed the bill. Probably within 1.5 months. Anyone has more info on this?

50% is ghey anyways. at the very least 35% is needed for tints. you can't even tell you have tints at 50%. ghey.

As translated by Rob in the other post:

You can run >50% tints (+/-5%) UNLESS you have <30% in the back. If you have superdarks in the back, no 50% tints in front for you.

You can go all the way to 35% (+/-5%) as long as you have the same or lighter in back.

50 front/30 back you're good.
35/35, you're good.
100/20, you're good.

So 35% all around would be legal, and is a perfect setup.

I think that is legal.

As long as the rears are 50's anything lighter than 50 is OK in front.

Tom

Very confusing taking about tint percentage -vs- light transmittance.

"<30% in the back" ------ this means less than 30% light transmittance ( really dark )

I am soooo excited this is passing. as I used to tint windows and will be getting back into it on the side.

But I think the enforcement of this is gonna be a friggin mess!!!

especially at night. My windows are 35 all around, but since I have a small car, they look just as dark as my dad's F-150 with 5% all around

not to bust on anyone. I dont like when someone blurts out REPOST on shit...but it should be common practice to make a small effort to see if somethings already posted before making a thread...unless the thread topic is specific to you. like this thread. a simple search using "tint" would show that there is already a thread going on it. I have made reposts before. It happens...but I always do a simple search before posting.

yeah tint is a funny thing. on my TA if i have the ttop inserts out it almost looks like I have no tint on my side windowns. with them in...it almost looks blacked out. yeah cant wait to see how picky the police get. at least we're getting something though.

Bingo!!!

it makes sence why this is passing so easily in a democratic controlled house and senate. too easily if you ask me.... they are never known for giving us our freedoms back unless there's something in it for them, like taking freedoms away. it's obviously a veiled attempt at giving police and easiler shot at probable cause to pull over anyone they want from there it's easy to start tacking on other reason for search's etc.
