It's august already

Wow. I feel like I waited forever last winter to finally start riding only to have the summer fly by really quickly. Yea I know it's not over yet, maybe it'll be warm until December like the last 2 years.

Yes and I start school in 3 weeks...It's law school, so my life will effectively be over. Trying to get my riding in before that time but it's been raining a lot this week..

Yea....summer is just about toast No more sweating at traffic lights. I get to wear my leathers again No more cleaning the bugs off the bike and visor. Nice crispy air. No freaking hail. All the posers are off the road, everyone waves to each, because they want to make sure that arm isn't frozen Jughead and I took a ride last year a week before Xmas, and I know he was riding on the 31st of Dec, because he was creamed by a cager and it totaled his RC51 I was back riding by the first week in March. I'm so glad summer is about done, now we'll get some good riding weather and nice fall colours too.

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

summer....what summer, have we even had a tue 90 degree day. Plenty of days in the 80's, but overall very mild. I heard they also tied the record for most thunderstorms in July with 13.... that's 3 days per week!

I love riding in fall. By far the best season. Love the smell, love the tempetures.

This summer sucked... it's been too damn cold. What happened to riding out to the lake, jumping in, then riding back?

It's too cold to swim!

I've really liked the temps this summer. I rode my bike today and there was a little chill in the air 68-74, my bike runs best at those temps, it felt great!

Yeah....It sucks!!!!! I've only got about 1000 miles logged this year as apposed to about 4000 I had last year this time. On the other hand I'm kind of glad cause the crash to mile ratio is waaaaaaaaaay up this year for the group. Three of us were pretty darn close to not coming home from starved rock sunday. So I'm not so sure it's a bad thing we haven't had more opportunity. I don't wanna pick up anymore broken bikes off the road. Thank God nobody's been seriously injured this year either.

A couple of things to watch out for in the Fall are wet leaves, gravel from the farm equipment, and this year from the flooding.

... and the fog. I was coming home last night about 11:30, and the fog was getting pretty thick. Especially around heavy tree cover, like forest preserves. Something to watch out for. And you know fall is coming when you get that sticky, damp air under your visor.

Don't forget the actual farm equipment, especially near dusk and dawn. You aren't going to win that confrontation!

Yes it's a sad sad feeling knowing that turning point is around the corner.

Although..........I know it sounds crazy but i do enjoy that feeling in the fall where you are riding and its warm but then go past trees or a forest preserve and feel the major air temp change.

as far as tuna taco's go Chris; i KNOW Helmets save lives but if you need it that bad you should'nt of gone there in the first place!! All hail Chris!! :-

The JDFR Charity ride was plastered all over the site and local shops. You couldn't have missed it if ya looked. We went after the ride.
