Changed a light bulb today.

Well, pretty much all I did today at work was change a light bulb. Here's a few pics.

1) The light bulb.

That's fucking cool. The height only bothers me if I don't have a safety strap..... kind of like riding fast without a helmet.

That kind of height would make me a bit nervous. I've put up a few home TV towers in the 50' range and I don't have much problem at that height.

The total height of the tower is about 275'. The height that I was at today was about 160', relatively speaking that's not all that high. There are alot of towers around here that are easily over 300'.

At the place I work we really don't do much tower work. If it's something easy we will do it, but anything too involved we contract out to full time tower companies.... those guys are completely nuts.

The thing for me that took a little to get used to is being comfortable enough to let go of the tower with both hands. You just have to trust your equipment.

My old boss used to be a manager for a tower comapny. He used to hold interviews at the top of the tower.

Maybe it is just me but when I look at those pics and how you are right next to the support cables, would just have this huge urge to use one of those cables as a zip line. Now that would be fun.

I could never be a tower guy. I'm incommunications, but I stay away from working for cell companies for that reason. I do fiber and go underground. I've seen shit under downtown thats nuts. Theres a whole nother city down there.

I like the helmet. Should help break the fall or stop the chunk of tower that's falling.

Really!!!??!! Are the women hotter in the underground city or is it like bizzaro Chicago? If so, I would like to me my bizzaro self. My bizzaro self is probably really really good looking, richer than god and actually funny. Wow, my life sucks.

Wait, if there was a bizzaro me, I could mooch off him for the money and girls. Huahahahaha!!!

Like an abandoned coal tunnels that are filled with Cable and pipes. Years ago before they came out with preformed manholes that just drop into place. they built underground rooms out of brick. Some of these are quite large.

Hey Andy.....From Pic one i can tell that is a hi/low range Strobe light correct? And it also appears to have twin leaders of small guage so would that happen to be a 120 single w/ dual contactors or 220 with single relay or is it 277 w/ single fed from mag contactors?

Just curious bro. Can you get your hands on a FREEBIE bulb as well? That would be an awesome "sight" from the yard if i am right about the strobe intensity!

Hook a brotha up!!!!!!!!!!
