Introduction: Minnisota Nice Here

Hey everyone,

My name is Blake I moved here from the Minneapolis area last July and don't know many sportbike riders. I'm far from a squid and know all about riding in 35 degree weather on a cold MN fall day. Unfortunately I sold my 2002 R1 before moving down and the that baught my bike totaled it in two weeks *tear* However on the upside of possitive, I'm in the process of purchasing a new bike this weekend. I live downtown and have a locked and safe garage for the bike and will be installing a lowjack system.

I am a very cautious rider who knows all about when to be aggressive and when to be defensive, but I must say Chicago traffic and road conditions suck balls!

Does anyone have any advice for me? Basically I just wanted to introduce myself and if anyone lives downtown maybe make a few new friends to ride with.

If you have to offer on good places to ride (outside of the city) I'm all ears. If I get this bike this weekend, I won't be able to ride until after the 4th of July once I go back to MN and get all of my leathers, helmet, ext.

Glad this site exists! I'm looking forward to meeting many of you and hopefully enjoying a few rides here and there.

If you're willing to ride a couple hours there are some decent roads. Maybe try and come out to a bike night, there's a downtown group that rides out to it.

If you ride like there's no tomorrow, today will be a BLAST!

Shoot! Don't shun me, I just noticed the Newbie section...

Thanks Bruce, once I get my protective gear from MN I'll for sure be adding miles on the two wheels

Nice DCTC avitar photo

Welcome aboard! Good group of people on here and a very active motorcycle community (foghorn), plus you are in proximity to some good tracks.

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.
