You mean you drew all that stuff from scratch?

Most of it looks like Photochopped pictures. Still pretty nice. Good work!

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm thinking about taking some classes in graphic design. I think it would be a fun field to have a side job in.

No doubt, there are some cool things out there. It would be cool to get into something like that online. Why go to a class, pay a fee and listen to someone drone on, Bueller, Bueller.... There's gotta be a better way.

It would be cool to start a group and challenge each other by doing a simple project once a month or every other week and then discuss how we did it. Know what I mean?

There's a TON of sites online with photoshop tutorials, that's basically where I've learned how to do everything. The group idea is a cool one, though, I wouldn't mind doing something like that.

I hear you there but we would need to get someone that's a guru or expert in the field. There are so many ways to go about doing the same thing it gets rather confusing. I think that if you were to go a to a class the teacher can watch and see you work and point things out that could be done a better or faster way. But then again the Internet and message boards is were I've been learning everything so far, so you may be on to something.

cool

That "lightning" effect can be useful many different ways. Here are a few things I did using that effect:

If you create a blend first, you can control it, like I did in this face I made for Audion The ultimate Macintosh MP3 player
preview pic:

or you can use it to make realistic cracks in rock

It would be a great side job, but as a full time job it sucks!

I've been working in graphic design / prepress work for about 15 years. My wife has been doing it for about 18 years, she is a digital retoucher / artist and basically works in PS exclusively. You can blame her when you order food and it looks nothing like the ad, or when you sweat and it's not green or red. She also makes models look even more unattainable.

I've been working on my own version of the Chicago skyline. Here's what I have so far. I don't you'll think see the moon in this position in real life!

This is actually 3 pictures assembled with PhotoStitch. I took all the pictures. A LOT of work on contrast and color has been done using the Curves option.
