Talking My Newest Birthmark!

Props go out to Larry Brogan at Tattoo City in Lockport. For those that know me well, I'm into Entomology so I gave Larry a drawn pic of a Harlequin Beetle. He enlarged it and drew it up. 4hours later I have a new birthmark.

Uummm Nice i guess.

Does it cover your whole back?

Thats what i love about tattoo's......To each his own! Not bad but i would not get something that big on me personally but i would think it was cool on someone else!

And vice-versa i am sure some people see mine and say why did he get that on his arm?

You guys are funny! It's about 10.5" long. It doesn't cover my whole back, but it could have. Larry just told me to stay away from any and all Dead/Phish concerts because I would freak everyone out and they'd be slapping my back

Yeah Ernie, if a girl can live w/ the bug on my back, then I can live w/ her

Vcook- No afterschool help sessions. I do have students that know about this site and rumors are going to start spreading Oh well!!!

Not to critique an permaenet bodily fixture , but the shadowing seems a bit off. There seems to be two light sources to cast the leg/antenae shadows.

One side is an outside shadow while the other is an inside

Seems consistent to me...if the light were centered between the antennae and elevated at the right distance.

Agree 100%, the perspective seems right.

Dude that is a wicked tattoo, pretty original, and the colors are cool. The guy does nice work, the detail is also superior. I am due for another tattoo soon

i dont know what Kruz is talking about the lighting for the shadowing is nICe. its comming in at about 75-80 degree angle from the head of the beatle.

i really like the detail in the back and color choice.

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

the guy did a great job, NOTHING in nature is perfect even when looking at 1 object giving off multiple shadow angles with that many legs, trust me i know.

1 leg might be lifted..... I think Krux is talking abotu the difference between the left front leg and the right one. But the guy jsut based it off a photo I think. Maybe 1 leg is lifted???

Either way...looks pretty sweet!

BTW Chris.... I need that rearset bolt back sometime.

I highly recommend Larry Brogan at Tattoo City. He does excellent work and will be at Inkin' Lincoln at the Radisson in Rosemont on the 12-14th.

The coloration matches the true colors of the insect. Thanks for all the compliments fellas!

Mike- Stop by anytime to get your bolt! LOL

DAMN DOC!!!

That is sweet as hell. I love seeing what people do when they get inked, and I'm all for doing something that is very symbolic of yourself. Hell I should be with what I have! The colors and detail are awsome! Killer props to the fella that did that for you!

I definately like the shadow effect, and yeah, the lighting is dead on it the light is straight up almost from the back of the beetle!!!!

Killer, I can't wait to see that one in person!!

Ciao,
Lupi
