Where can I go fishing?

Where can I go fishing? I want to take my 2 boys fishing to a local lake, or forest preserve that rents boats, or has a nice pier, etc......

We must have something within an hour of here?

Monee Resevoir is real nice. It's not too far from Planfield either and they have a good stock of Large Mouth Bass, and Crappy.

There's some pay and play fishing place in Plainfield. You could go to Shabbona, or LaSalle Lake. I usually fish rivers myself, if I were you I'd take Crazy up on his offer. Buy some circle hooks and worms for catch and release purposes unless you're going for meat.

I don't know if they still do it but you used to be able to rent rowboats at McHenry Dam for a few bucks.

Its been awhile since I been there but we used to catch a lot of panfish and catfish... The lower part was better for fishing.

For pier or shore fishing ....Lake county.... Pick one... One of the lakes on the chain o lakes..
fox lake, island lake there are a bunch out there....Don't forget fishing licenses...
