i'll admit that the first 2 generations of R1 were sweet looking, but this gen 3 rendering is ugly as hell.

That is a computer generated pic of what someone thinks it may look like. Hopefully it wont...those ram air ducts are plain hideous.

Life is too short to ride anything but an R1

The solo tail and the swing arm are the coolest things on that rendition.
But looking at it:
-The tank has too sharp of an angle by the rider. Imagine a bump jamming that into your ribs.
-The 02/03 mid fairings a pulled in close to the frame. I wouldn't imagine they would make the bike wider, thus making the mids on this too far back by the riders knees.

Then again we all go through this every year. It's funny that some boards have post about 2 and 3 years down the road.

I think it looks sweet, and as far as the undertail exhaust I would expect that from most manufacturers now since they are trying to use MotoGP as their selling bed for street bikes now that they are 4 strokes. So they have to make it look close enough for the old what wins on Sunday sells on Monday works.

Personally I like this desing though.

the gsxr1000 that is its direct competitor had the same design for 2 years. As far as dated designs nothing beats the reighning king, the zx7r. Virtually unchanged visually and mechanically since 96.

Sorry all:
The R1s came stock with painted huggers - except for the Black & red .
The r6s didn't.
