Anyone driven down I-57 recently?

Just wondering if anyone has driven down I-57 toward TN lately, the wife is going down to her Whore sisters wedding tommorow and taking i-294 to I-57 south, i heard there was some construction on it a few months ago and it was all fugged up, should she take a different route or is it ok now?

DO YOU WANT TO BE A BETTER DIRT OR MX RIDER OR LEARN TO RIDE DIRT?

We just got back from Florida and avoided 57 due to construction. According to AAA it was still being worked on.

Crap.

I'm heading down to SIU for homecoming this weekend, straight shot down 57.

well i have a girlfriend that goes to siu and i visit her like twice a month. 57 is ok, a little bit of construction but nothing to bad. it takes me 5 to six hours to get there from streamwood area. 355 was pretty bad during rush hour though due to construction.

I just drove the entire thing from around I-80 all the way to the southern tip of Illinois when I went to Texas.

There is spotty one lane work here and there. I was not delayed too bad. It really doesn't matter where you go in the United States. There is road construction everywhere. I travel A LOT and you have to deal with things like this here and there.

There is just a little bit of construction, however, there is more constryction around Memphis and in Arkansas but nothing to bad. I made the trip back from Memphis to Elmhurst in 9 hours in a cargo van.

I always hated taking 294-57 and 57 all the way down. It just made the trip seem to drag. I preferred taking 55 south to 47 south. 47 south to 74 east. 74 east to 57 south. 47 is a country road with some hills and curves, but is actually a shorter distance than taking the 294-80-57 route. Only problem with 47 is it is a 2 lane highway, but if you don't have a problem with passing people, you can really move on that road.

Agreed. I swear I could set my cruise control at 80, set the alarm on my phone for 5 hours and wake up right at Route 13
