Stupid freakin VFR

Dear honda,
:
I want you to stop wasting your time designing stupid sport touring bikes and build an RC61 (RVT1000 or 1200 or w/e engine you want).

Not to say I don't like the vfr ... cause actually I do, I just want them to stop playing with it and build a superbike with a v-twin again. Preferably under 11k like b4. And no I don't wanna buy an old RC51, people are asking stupid high prices for the ones I want .

it won't happen unless the 1000rr repeatedly gets it's ass handed to it ... all the time. Which prob won't happen. They have been doing well with the Race on Sunday, Sell on Monday thus far. But I really think that RC61 would just put them over the top.

Not sure if I will sell it actually. Anniversary edition. Vtec (which they aren't building any more for bikes). That may turn out to be a collectors piece

They managed to pour a whole bunch of ugly sauce all over that new VFR. It has the bald guy's forehead look like the 1000RRs. Why are they making bikes so fat and huge looking now? I like the old VFRs.

5th Gen VFR was the last of the great ones. Gear driven cams ftw. However, if Paul ever sells his, he will be selling it to me. A true fan of the VFR.

I can't leave Paul stranded. I think he only has two back up bikes. And besides, I already have two Jap bikes in the garage. One more and it would fall over from not having a euro bike in it. Take me off the dibs list, but it is still a very very nice ride.

I dont mind that bike much
has a little BMW look to it

lets face it - it has to change. If it looked the same as it did on 2000 everyone would be complaining that it hasnt changed in 10 years. Im guessing the diehard Viffer fans have been waiting for an engine displacement increase for many years and are now thrilled.

I agree 100%. I have been looking forward to a model change ever since I bought the 07. I still really like the 07, however, and doubt I will be getting rid of it even if I get the new model. The only way I could see myself doing that is to get an ST of some sort with the new VFR. THEN, I would sell the 07. I got rid of the Goldwing with an eye on heading back to an ST/VFR combo for touring options. We'll see how it goes

588lbs for the new VFR? Wow. Not too much into Hondas, but should they maybe not call it a VFR? It was a sportbike at one time, right?

A 600cc V-4 2010 Interceptor would be nice.

The ST1100 was only 635 Lbs....... with bags !

Seems awfully close.

The CBR1100 XX was only 500 LBS !

A BMW K1300s is 560 Lbs <-------- there is the design target.

Finally up on the US site......

http://powersports.honda.com/vfr/#/home

I think if you compare this to a sporting V-Four like the earlier VFR's or the
RC30 / RC54 the design looks like tons of fail.

OTOH.... if you look at it as a replacement for the CBR1100XX and competition
for the K1300s BMW...... an open class GT bike......a SPORT/Touring bike.

Then..... it makes more sense.

I think it's game changing and I am excited to ride it...

ST bikes haven't really been my thing.. but who can't appreciate a new innovative bike with all kinds of high tech in it...

(yes.. i also appreciate very simple bikes... to be honest for the most part I really like all bikes, especially bikes that are different)

They spent a lot of time on this.. With a lot of very smart engineers... I bet it's awesome. The VFR is somewhat of a flagship for Honda... I don't think they would push out a flop in that slot

I do want a good ST to be honest.. I just don't know how/when I would do any real touring..

I had an ST4 for a bit.. but I was banging pegs on it all the time and it just wasn't my thing.. I could have swapped out the suspension etc.. but really I already had enough bikes at the time.. and sold it to one of my close friends (so now even though she isn't mine.. I can still ride her! win win! )

I agree....

Just if you look at it like an RC-30 ...... you might be disappointed.

If you look at it through a different lens...... typical Honda Excellence.
