Phone-Long Distance

Is there a website that I can punch in my address to see what long distance providers are in my area? Im talking business/land lines - not a home address. When we moved here almost 2 years ago Verizon was the only carrier providing service. That contract is almost up and I want to shop around.
Ideas?

If your outside the at&t grid and on a verizon gti grid good luck. I have the same problem with a office in sandwich and verizon is the only service there. I have talked to several providers and all are unable to work with verizion, but said new contracts are in the works with them, but no timelines and this was only a few months ago.

Personally Mike, I don't carry LD. I just use my cell phone when I call LD. It's just sensless to me to pay for LD when I get it included on my cell phone package. Just my .02

Can you do any of the VOIP solutions?
There are a lot of more advanced features with them.. As long as you have good internet..
My Father uses Vonage for his business... but obviously there is a lot of competition.. Including google voice

oh wait this is for the office? as long as you have reliable high speed internet, Vonage would work well for you.

How are you getting crosstalk with a digital signal? Cross talk is a symtom of analog service

There is never too many lines or calls for VoIP. and VoIP is cost effective and pays for itself in comparison to LD service especially for high volume LD comparison.

If I were you, I'd look into it.

But, just FYI you require at least one land line to satisfy e911 laws.

Let me know if you need additional help. I involuntarily became an expert in this mess.

I think you are confusing Vonage as all VOIP
I am not going to pressure in any direction as I don't know your situation... but there is a lot more to VOIP than the home service stuff...

Every call center you call.. notice how most of them are in India now?
VOIP

Many fortune 100 companies.. All or almost all VOIP on the back end.. and interoffice...

From the conversation here I doubt you are running your own phone switch.. but... Perhaps that might make sense?

I don't know who on here would know best.. Perhaps drop G2G a line.. I think that's his thing (at least from a support angle.. I don't know exactly what he does) ..

Just trying to be helpful since it sounds like you weren't happy with Vonage...

It's a complicated market... and it seems like it's being over simplified to you (not from people here.. from whomever told you vzn was your only option)

just my 2 cents.. carry on

you're kidding right? instead of dialing on the phone, you dial on the computer and wait for the phone to ring. if they can't handle that, you need new help. srsly.

maybe there's folks that are on the other side of the technology curve -as in older
I see what youre saying but at this point in my company history I dont see it as an option plus it would cost me about $400 more per month

how would it cost you more? it's a free service. and you barely need an internet connection to access the google page. you could certainly do it over dialup if that's all you had.
