I'm hoping for 1 more good weekend before I put the bike away for good this year. Good in this case will be 60's or better.

If I recall last year, I know we did a ride to Starved Rock around the beginning of November, and that turned out to be a really nice day. So there's hope.

Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

Well my Ouija board is as reliable as the farmer's almanac, and when I asked how bad this winter will be, it answered ZYCHIEWSZ! I musta contacted a dead Polish meteorologist or something.

Yep, it's coming. Also hoping for one more nice warm day out of the blue to bust out the bike. Should be use to it but it is depressing being cooped up all winter.

No snow!! i seriously need to get somwhere with no winters. Dont mind chicago just dont like the winter.

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

I can just see Ken sitting at home in his grandpa sweater, puffing his pipe, reading farmer's almanac, and figuring out how to ready his crops for the cold snap.

Seriously, though, last winter was COLD. I remember the drive up there being just awful (the dog didn't even want to get out to pee for the entire 2 days!).

The almanac's forecast, however, is at odds with the National Weather Service, which is calling for warmer-than-normal temperatures across much of the country because of an El Nino system in the tropical Pacific Ocean, said Mike Halpert, deputy director of the NOAA Climate Prediction Center in Camp Springs, Md.
There's other articles out there that question the accuracy of the Almanac as well.

I heard it was going to be an El Nino winter as well. I'm hoping they're right... seing snow while out running errands Saturday morning SUCKED!

That, plus I've been helping my sweetie with putting a new roof on his house... and building an addition... had the propane heater going full-tilt at one end of the kitchen where he had torn out the exterior wall, while I was cooking dinner at the other end - chopping vegetables while wearing mittens is not a good option, LOL!

I'm afraid the Ducs are put away for the season
