5,000 pounds of pot ...

... looks like this:

$1.7M In Pot Found In Fake School Bus
Driver Fled On Foot

UPDATED: 8:15 am CDT October 13, 2009

LAREDO, Texas -- More than 5,000 pounds of marijuana was found in a fake school bus near Laredo.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped the school bus, which was marked to resemble a bus from the Laredo United Independent School District, on U.S. 59 north of Laredo on Saturday, a news release said.

The bus had 5,408 pounds of marijuana estimated to be worth more than $1.7 million.

The driver fled on foot.

DPS is investigating.

Wonder why the trooper pulled the bus over to begin with. I rarely see it happen to school buses.

I was thinking the same thing. Something on the bus must have tipped him off that it was fake.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Could have been that that exact kind of bus isn't used by UISD.

But I think it's hilarious that the driver fled on foot. Would've been even better if he'd fled on donkey.

Yeah, figured that. I'd be a little more worried for our winter if it was coming from CA or Canada.

It's worth maybe 1.7 mil because you are selling that to 1-4 people. Now, if you know 346,112 people you can sell it to for $50 a quarter oz, you can make a lot more.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.
