Research more. Comes to VZW Oct 21st. There is no surepress screen anymore, no more clicky click based on Engadget.

The first one was terrible
We still have my Wife's.. I think vzn realized it sucked.. They authorized her for early upgrade after having it for.. like 4 months.. She has a Tour now and LOVES it.. Except she misses the bigger screen...

Guess I should ebay the old storm and see what we can get for it

VZN replaced it the day she got the Tour so.. It's basically new
(my daughter tried to eat it.. Blackberrys do not handle saliva well)

Official release date of BB Storm 2 will be Oct 26 on Vodafone. Which probably means that it will be released in the US sometime after. Most likely Nov. Source: https://www.chicagolandsportbikes.com...eply&p=1570028

So before you come at me with some of your angry bullshit, do some research of your own.

My first gen is pretty disappointing. Wife and I have been with VZN for a decade and it was the best they had... Got in 04/2009.

My biggest gripes are the call quality and internet slowness. When we call each other on our Storms, it's just an exercise in frustration.

omg, and the slow clunky camera.

Oh yeah and this was also on Crackberry so i am still unsure of what type of screen it has. The screen still moves but it is not a click click screen like the first one.

http://crackberry.com/blackberry-storm2-review

BlackBerry Storm2 refinements include:

* Enhanced SurePress Technology (SurePress is all electronic in Storm 2 - there are no mechanical moving parts)
* Overall device performance (i.e. rotation speed, etc…) is enhanced
* JavaScript is now On by default
* Wi-FI 802.11 b/g
* 256 MB Flash Memory (Storm 1 had 128MB)
* 2GB Onboard Media Memory (Storm 1 had 1GB)
* Sleeker Design (tinted chrome ring, etc.)
* Integrated touch navigation keys
* BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0
* Internet browsing enhancements (i.e. faster page loading)

There's a network for that.
Vzn network kicks the crap out of ATT's
plus.. call quality.. even ATT vs ATT ... I have had better luck with blackberry than the iphone.. It's got a good chipset in it..

Not necessarily the storm.. just bb's in general... plus they have rather decent battery life

By no means is the Storm perfect, but lets be serious, the iphone JUST got MMS messaging , what, 2 weeks ago?!

The people I know that own iphones have just as many quirks as the BB's.

Because AT&T service just sucks....I mean have you actually tried making a call on a damn Iphone? It takes 4 attempts to connect and when you do, you have more clarity with 2 tin cans and a piece of string! I know the Iphone does all kinds of "cool" things, but people need a phone they can actually make a call on. What I don't understand is the functions on the Iphone work amazingly well, why can't you make a call on the POS

iphones are neat, and they're better multimedia toy phones but blackberrys are hardly a copy(even the storm) and I still hold that they're better for business use until real mail push is developed for the iphone.

I got the Tour, it works well, nuff said. I hope they fix the touch screen on the second storm. I tried texting on Steve's phone and I couldn't do it. They epically failed on that first touch screen. I will give Apple credit on the screen as that worked much better than that contraption they released on the Storm . Like Rick said, Iphone's phone quality sucks, I told my bro and law to just text me from now on cause I can't understand anything he says on his phone .

this is not true mail push, for the millionth time!! it uses activesynch and microsofts web outlook in order to deliver messages to the device. To the end user, it makes little difference as long as it works. To the IT profession it makes a big difference!!

I'd agree that if it works, it works and for the end user the result is the same. Implementation is different though, and I'm hoping apple releases a real solution soon as I'd happily run an apple server of some type for exchange integration.
