The Passing of a Legend

I know it's been a long time since I've posted on this website, but I feel like this is something that I need to do. My grandfather Frank Cheek, passed away September 30th this year.

Some of you may know Frank as the founder of the nations first motorcycle resort in Suches, Georgia called T.W.O. (Two Wheels Only). Right on a FANTASTIC stretch of highway of Georgia 60 and Georgia 180, it was the first campground/resort to require all of their patrons to either be riding or towing a motorcycle in order to stay there. Frank's heart wasn't only in motorcycles, but also aviation. He was a Navy pilot, and at one time was certified to fly EVERY plane that the Navy flew. In fact, if it weren't for his tall stature, he would have been part of the Apollo missions (he and Alan Shepard were close friends). After his time in the service, he was employed by Eastern Airlines for a number of years before his retirement in 1988. Those who knew Frank from TWO will always remember a gruff man who's name could not have been any more fitting. But he always meant well, and would do anything for anyone. I'll leave this short, since all anyone needs to do is Google Frank Cheek and they'll learn everything they need to know about the man, the legend, the one who I called Papa. Rest in peace sir. Godspeed!

Please leave any thoughts and stories if you had the chance to meet Frank or have had any opportunities to go through TWO.

Dude, sorry to hear about your grandpa man. I've stayed at TWO and I've passed through that area many many times. You're grand dad was cool and a real fucking biker.

Some mod needs to wipe out all this dudes red dots and let him start clean. He's clearly in the blood line of for real motorcycle riders.

RIP to Frank. But he's happy where he's at man.

Thanks man,

Yeah with me graduating school and relocating to Oshkosh, it's been tough to post, or even keep up with whats gone on, but it seems like there are TONS of posts on other motorcycle site except this one, so I figured I'd share the (unfortunate) news. I know there have been several guys on this site that have spoken with Frank and could share a story or two.

I'm at his house in Suches right now gearing up for his final ride through the mountains on Sunday. He will then have his ashes scattered by his son, David, on Sunday from an airplane over the north Georgia mountains.

Just in case anyone is feeling very mobile this weekend, his service will be held at Frank's Place on Sunday, Oct 18th at 10:30am. The service will be followed by a "Cooler Run" and then as I said before his ashes will be scattered over the mountains by his son David. If anyone needs any more info feel free to PM me or call me at (630) 362-9811. Thank you everyone for your condolences. He will be dearly, dearly missed.

Godspeed.

That place has been on my radar for years though I've not made it down there yet.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
