3 weeks and counting

It's been just over 3 weeks and my son is still in the ICU with this Whooping Cough. This has been the most God awful thing. He is getting better and stronger everyday. But he still has this cough that sends his heart rate down and he can't breath. We were hoping to have him home last week, but every time he has one of his episodes we have to wait another 48 hours. He had one last night so now we're looking around Tuesday, and that's if he has no more episodes today or tomorrow. When we do get him home he'll have to be on an Apnea machine for I don't know how long. This is some scary sh!t. The biggest problem is he is soo young, he's 9 weeks. If he were older it wouldn't have been so bad. But then again if he were older he wouldn't have gotten it because he would have been vaccinated. So anyway I was just giving an update on whats going on. Thank you all for all for the prayers I know they have helped.

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

As my sister and her little one went through a similar episode that had her afraid for her child's life, I hope your little one pulls through soon.

My niece picked up whooping cough at pre-school.....

So a big thank you goes out to all parents who won't vaccinate their children. If you really don't give a shit about your child, feel free to spread the pain to others. Fuckers!

Hang in there dude. It seems frustrating now, but keep reminding yourself, not to rush to get him home. You dont' want to be away from medical help, if an episode develops.

I personally, could never forgive myself if I had pushed to get home, then something happens. Too heavy of a burden, to bear.

Prayer of strength and patience.

We went thru a lot with our daughter, and I now feel things happen for a reason. Sometime its the childs need the loving care you and your wife poses. Sometimes its building the childs character. And sometimes its to solidify a relationship. Let lifes course play out, and often events will come to mind, that will remind you, that if this hadn't happened, you would not know how to handle this new situation.

Ken.
