In Laws, how long is too long?

How long is too long for your in laws to stay with you at your home? My situation, they have been here for a week and a half and plan on staying two more.

"There are no men more ignoble or more foolish, no men whose actions are fraught with greater possibility of mischief to their country and to mankind, than those who exalt unrighteous peace as better than righteous war." - Theodore Roosevelt

Depends on how much help they're providing by being around. If the answer is "zero" then the limit is 1 week.

My inlaws think it is too far of a drive from Mt. Greenwood to 4000 North.

Thank Gods!

Are they from out of the country? Do they live relatively close by, say within 1 day by car? Out of country makes a little more sense. Milwaukee, WI... GTFO.

We live in TX, they drove down here from lincolnwood. Her mom was here in june for 18 days and both of them were here for a week in march. The worst part is my wife said two weeks I guess I should interpret that to 4 next time.

My GF's mom lived with us for over a year. My dumbass is the one who suggested it. I was also the one who kicked her out. I think I can put my two cents in the matter right?

Simple answer...

If you are asking this question, it is too long!

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

3 days for a casual visit. 1 week, if their visiting and out of state by more than 500 miles. But this should be a once a year deal if that. And this is if they are contributing to food, working on house projects, etc.

If their just sitting there watching the TV.... GTFO.
If their just shopping all day, but not buying YOU anything..... GTFO.

Your house is not a hotel. Tell them politely that you would prefer if they get a hotel room, and that you like your privacy. If they try and turn the wife on you and guilt you, then its time for them to GTFO.

Same goes for friends. I can't get half my friends to stay at my house anymore, because everytime they do, I put them to work. Just ask Pilotx1.

Asian parents do the weirdest things such as going to Walgreens and HOARDING Centrum vitamins to take back home because they think it is good medicine. Get ready to see some weird ass shit happen and strange smells emanating from your kitchen

When we went to Disney this year the inlaws shared a 1bedroom (they had the bedroom, we took the living room) for 10 days. I didn't mind it at all, I like my inlaws. But my mother and father in law were at the edge with the daily farting contests between my daughter and myself.
