Just curious, what is an Affair Gone Right?

How about respect for the sanctity of marriage as well as respect for a relationship in general?

What a dumb ass, never understood people who cheat. They all think they are clever but always get caught. If this tool was not happy being married he could have gotten a divorce and taken his lumps like a man, end of issue. Now his career and image is damaged. Plus any judge and good lawyer will clean this guy out leaving his wife with everything (rightfully so). Dumb ass.

Cheating has nothing to do with not loving their wife, being smart, or being unhappy. Not all cheaters get caught.

Some times what is at home is significantly better looking than what tickles a man's/woman's fancy, but that may not be what makes them "wander", they cite boredom, routine, or the need to feel "appreciated" and "desired"... any way you try to justify it, it is WRONG.

Such petty people.

I don't blame the wife for forgiving him the first time, but I will personally hackhand her if she "gets over it" this time around.

Yes, that is how things can start... but it was up to him to be a bigger person and acknowledge that what he had in his wife and family was worth more than a cheap "thrill".

We are all around our co-workers more than our spouses, that doesn't mean that we jump on the first opportunity that is presented to us. He was just, like many, a fool.

My grandfather had some advice for his children, "Don't lose the most for the least."

I was in no way trying to excuse it; just putting it out there that it usually sets in motion a chain of events that is easy to stop in the very beginning by MAKING time for your spouse....

I know, and I completely agree. One can choose to be excited and interested in one's spouse. Do men really think we don't need to be excited by them every now and then? Does life not become routine for the wife? Yes, it does, but we choose to love our husband and find in him the boyish charm that caught our attention in the first place.

I've heard this saying before and I'd like to dispute it, a man is only as faithful as his will power. Weak (pitiful) men will cheat. Strong men will stay faithful even in the face of full blown temptation.
