I have no complaints about DGY...its close...they carry a ton of inventory, nice showroom, and they are competeitve on bike prices.

You just need to know that their service is double what others charge and half as good.

A lady that I work with told me about a month ago that her mother inlaws Nephew along with another person was looking into buying out DGY 'she's not sure if there's a 3rd person'. From reading this thread I guess she was not b/s. I hope I can get good deals through her.

I think they have a very professional parts dept, besides that I can't really comment. I kind of like the place, better than a lot of places that are close to where I live. The sales chick that works the helmet section is also super hot.

I belive her name is Kira, she is hot.

As to the dealer. Parts dept never has what I want. and they never give good discounts on gear. (even 10% would have been nice, especially when I know what the wholesale cost is on something) Dan and harry have always been cool with me. so I have bought more than a few bikes there. Problem is when they refused to give me a measly discount on my new arai. I took all my future bike buisness away from them. That decision cost them a lot of money. who knows maybe the new owners will earn my buisness back. after all buisness, like respect, is earned.

No shit, happen to me at DGY, too. My business partner and I dropped down cash for a Hayabusa, R1, and a jet ski all in one day. I come in the next week to pick up some gear and they would not cut me a deal. So, now I use them as a showroom, try on my gear there and order over the Internet. I will always support my local dealer over the Internet, but the problem I have had is that my local dealers, kind of suck and they want to charge an arm and a leg for parts and service.

I wish DGY's new owners the best of luck, because they have some work ahead of them. However, if it is going to be business as usual, well, I guess I won't be dropping any coins in Downers Grove.

I really hope it gets better. That's the only dealer wihtin 30 minutes of my place. I could use a competent service center that's not 1-1/2 hour away.

Personally, I thought the prices on bikes sucked. I think Pirate is right to say it can't get worse. But if it doesn't get a whole lot better, I'm still not gonna buy anything from there.

It can't hurt me any by asking her to get some discounts.

Yeah, it is a cool place if you know what your looking for and know what your willing to pay. Its better than paying a shipping charge and waiting.

DGY

I guess I should point out first that YES I did use to work there, but that was years ago when Jim Swan owned the place and Dan Racz ran almost everything. So if this comes off as a little bias, trust me I'm not trying to be.
That place in the late 80's to mid 90's rocked!! As Jim got older he wanted to step away from the buis., but leave it in good hands. When he sold the first time to Doc. and Nadame if anybody remembers the place went down hill with in 3 or 4 months. Then Jim along with Burt Bondi from Bonzi bought it back from the Doc., and turned it back into the great dealership it was and then some.
A few years ago they sold to 3 private people. Well we all know what has happened in those few years. To be honest the prices suck, the sales people only care about dirt bike riders cause that's all they sponser, service is a joke unless you want to make an appointment to bring you bike in then wait a week before they even start to look at it, and discount...ya right. I use to work there for 3 years and I don't even get one. Since those changes alot of good people have left and gone to other dealerships to work.
I hope the new owners are some what younger, and more in touch with all kinds of riders. But most of all I sure hope they have a clue about customer service and satisfaction.

DGY needs to hire everyone from Fox Valley Honda to come over there and then... only then.... would they be as good as Fox Valley Honda..... Uhhhhh.... yeah....... Simply put... Fox Valley Honda is the cats meow. Shop there for your parts and go there for your service.
