Apple to Announce new iPhone today...

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/20...ple07_CV_N.htm

Probably what we already know from Gizmodo. But it looks like Apple vs. Google is really heating up. this can only be good for the consumers.

I still use a Palm Treo 755 for my phone daily, and an iPhone for my apps, appts, and pictures (phone part not activated)

Anyhow, should be an interesting tech day in the press.

I have an original 1G 16GB iPhone and I think I'll finally upgrade when this new one comes out.

I have a feeling everyone will walk away from this announcing a little dissapointed. There is a lot of hope that the iphone will be announced for Verizon. if that doesn't happen I htink the best thing about the announcement will be the front facing camera, more memory, and iphone 4.0 (probably the best part of the announcement today).

Like you said Steve, most likely nothing new, just making the Gizmodo disclosures official.

I'm not expecting a huge change in the phone from the 3GS. But from the 1G it'll be a big improvement.

Oh, dual batteries so longer talk time should be exciting if they announce it. That's the same way the ipad did it.

I hope AT&T is not the exclusive service provider.

I hope they dramatically change the interface and make the home screen dynamic and well integrated with social networks, web, calendar, etc.

Being Apple, I'm sure they'll have a flurry of new neat services.

You better be nice to America or we will bring democracy to your country.

Hey Wink,
You could get an Android phone and use the phone as a phone and use apps at the same time; Just sayin.

If I was buying a phone right now, that is exactly what I would do. Android has some VERY cool apps.

I really hope that the new iPhone goes to pretty much everyone ... so the service providers can start to battle w/ whoever has the best coverage/lower rates.

I've still got a p.o.s. bb 8300 from 2007 I def need to upgrade ... but ATT sucks right now, so maybe I'll finally make the switch

10:44AM - Demo over. Steve is clearly not too stoked.

10:44AM - Steve’s given up on web pages — showing photos now. “It kinda comes down to what do you want to be looking at all day long? … I’ll try one more time here. Well, I’m sorry guys, I just don’t know what’s going on. Scott, you got any suggestions?” Someone shouts “Verizon!”

10:42AM - Uh oh, network troubles up on stage. Steve: “You could do me a favor by getting off of WiFi.” Nice hat tip to the Google IO keynote foibles. Switched to backup iPhone 4, errored with: “Could not activate cellular network.” Laughs. “Yeah, I know…”

Not sure whats the point of having high pixel density and high resolution on a 3.5" screen.

I was hoping they'd come out with a larger screen -- 4.0" or 4.3".

Imagine that high res with that large screen size!

I have been waiting for the netflix app. Although not sure why that was put out here - netflix announced it would be coming out for the iphone the day after they announced it for the ipad.

So we have known it was coming for a while, they didn't even release a release date for it. They just said "this summer"
