Why did the home entertainment industry take so darn long to realize the best/easiest way to transmit digital information has long since been hammered out?

That just means we have to all go out and buy new tv's, bluerays, xbox's, dvd players, ect, ect. When we are all done with that then new and improved HDMI will come out! Fuck that I will stick with my VHS and console tv!
