Where to get EVO?

I cant stand the iphone anymore. I accidentally updated it to the latest software revision and its slower than molasses and has already dropped 7 calls this morning and I haven't even moved from the home office yet.

Who keeps these things in stock? I have tried bestbuys/radioshack/sprint stores. Have you guys seen them anywhere?

I'm not impressed with the EVO. Even with Froyo, Android continues to be very buggy (compared to my previous iPhone 3GS) and has random lagging issues. I find myself restarting the phone every two days to get a fresh feel, even after using task killing apps.

And the battery life is just terrible!

If you can stick with your current phone and carrier for a few more months, then wait until the new Verizon iPhone comes out.

I am contemplating returning my Droid X for the same reasons, and then feel out Q1 2011 to see if the iPhone becomes a reality on VZW.

Dude. You got to eyefuck my EVO and even sync it with your bluetooth MONTHS ago, and you didn't get one shortly thereafter? Slacker!

Yep- I only had battery life issues for the first two weeks or so, a software update fixed it immediately. And it's not buggy for me at all.

*edit*
Jordan, I *thought* I remembered you telling me you had one! Cool, I didnt think i was quite that senile yet.

I had 3 gen. of Iphones, now I have EVO and I'm happy.
EVO's Battery life is ok if u have a good signal. I can squeeze 12-14hrs out of it with good signal, bad signal like 3hrs.
EVO is more like a phone with internet and big ass screen, Iphone is more like a toy with phone in it.

I had to put my self on the list to get my EVO, and I am a new customer. I'm waiting for my wife's EVO to show up, I got her Hero and she hates it.

Funny you compare the iPhone to a toy because nearly every aspect of Android has been copied from the iPhone.

Try not using the task killing apps. They're not really necessary and can cause more problems over time if you're not using them correctly. I use System Panel just to monitor things but I never have to actually kill an app. Also the Iphone on Verizon has not been confirmed.

FYI, Samsung's Epic will be released on August 31st. Pre orders started yesterday. If you're a physical keyboard fan, try that out.

If you're on Verizon, the Droid 2 has just rolled out as well. That too has a physical keyboard.

I got mine at the Best Buy in the South Loop. I got the last one they had. Best Buy has a preorder list, you put down a $50 deposit but you don't have a guarantee of when you will get it. I just walked in on Saturday morning and got one.
