Droid 2 help and advice needed

So at work they got me the Droid 2 as a work phone, no iPhone but far better than the Windows Mobile phone it replaced.

Now I need tips...
I read in another form that a Task Killer is not the way to go, but the battery life sucks ass on this thing. So what can I do to improve the battery life besides spending $40 on an extended battery?

I also hate the fact when I touch certain things on the screen the phone does that quick vibrate to tell me I am pressing it (like unlocking the screen). How can I turn that off? I looked under the settings and found under sound that there is a "Haptic Feedback" and it says "vibrate when pressing soft keys on certain UI interactions" I unchecked it and the phone still vibrates when I touch the screen... damn annoying!!

The 3G Mobile Hotspot, does that cost more to use? The company has unlimited data but not sure if I can use that.

The Blockbuster app is on here... WTF??

I have to pay $2.99 for Visual Voice Mail... again WTF!?!?! I love this on my iPhone, but won't pay extra for it.

The push for my work email blows.... push is on and it a hit or miss with it working. Anything else I can do to improve this?

I am done for now and I'll be honest, I don't see anything special about this phone yet.

Go to settings, apps, running services and kill any unwanted running programs there.

As for getting better battery life, go through your entire settings and uncheck everything you dont need. Also sign into google talk and disable automatically connect.

You can get rid of the Visual Voicemail fee by removing it and replacing it with Google Voice, which does far more and gives you the same functionality for free.

Don't have much time right now, so I'll say what I can.

Work e-mail, you on exchange? Get Touchdown... best $20 on an app ever.

Battery drain - get an app called Spare Parts. Combined with that, and the Settings -> Battery Usage results, you should be able to figure out what is sucking your battery down. Be sure to check Partial Wake Usage, as that'll tell you if things are pulling down in the background.

Mobile Network Settings - Disable Data Roaming and set Roaming to Sprint/Verizon only, if that option is available to you. Also disable Data Always On, if that option is available.

This should get you started. Spend some time on AndroidCentral.com or AndroidForums.com's forums...

I have had the droid 2 for about 3 weeks now.. The first week and a half my phone would literally die after 6 hours. Then I found a solution.. go to settings, battery manager, click battery mode, then select Maximum Battery Saver mode. My phone last (without charging) 24+ hours now. ...And I am still literally on it every 10-15 mins checking something.

Check it out yourself.. let me know how it works for you! Makes it nice not having to carry a charger wherever I go!

Are you forwarding your calls to your GV number? Is Verizon cool with that?
