SHoretel phones

Hi Guys,
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a shoretel phone system at work and wonder if any of you have used them before? We are also looking at cisco, avaya, and toshiba as top vendors, but the shoretel looks the best from feature set and technology. Feel free to pm me too. Thanks!

I consider Cisco and Avaya the top tier. Toshiba / Nortel / Inteltel / Shoretel etc. are second tier IMO. They are not bad systems however if you need to save a little dough. Both Avaya and Cisco have systems that can complete on the price of the lower tier or at least get you close. You have be careful with the second tier becuase many of the systems are not completely digital and are really hybrid analog/digital. One major thing you should consider when going with the second tier is future support. There are a metric ton of vendors that can support Cisco IP Telephony and Avaya here is Chi Town. However if your Shortel vendor ends up dropping the ball who will you turn too? If my job were on the line I'd pick Cisco. It's probably going to cost the most but IMO it's the best. Wisely picking handsets is the key to keeping the price down. The phones have the best build quality in the business. Avaya is good too, but the phones are Vanilla. Frankly I dont know who demo'ed your Cisco IP gear. I dont see how Shoretel has out featured/out tech'ed them... Keep in mind with a Cisco system you get cisco switches for your data too, and you abandon your old phone system wires. The other benifit of that is you can roll the system out side by side with the old one for a smooth transition.
