Best Buy Insignia brand

Pretty interesting find this weekend.
Had a friend buy a 22" led tv, Insignia brand. During the demo mode a big LG icon comes up on the display.
Another friend bought a theater in a box system. On the carb warning label, it lists Onkyo as the maker.
Pretty cool that they have such high end makers making their private label stuff, typically lowest bidders win who nobody has ever heard of. Their house brand also carries a 2yr warranty where the actual name brand carries only one in most cases.

Yep, totally common. The place I work at also private labels stuff. Was just kinda surprised that Best Buy used such high quality suppliers.

Doesn't mean they use high quality components though, just means they assemble it for them.

I have a 42" Insignia plasma that uses a lot of Samsung parts in it. It was really cheap ($400) and has a 2 year warranty as well. I was very happy with that purchase.

I also bought an Insignia blu-ray player and the optical lens crapped out after a few months.

Re: Best Buy Insignia brand

Insignia is actually lg. Insignia is just best buys brand name of tv but in reality its lg made inside and out. I got a 42 lcd insignia and love it. Id buy anything insignia and wouldn't be worried about quality.

The other really nice thing about buying a Insignia TV...

If you have a warranty issue you can bring it back to Best Buy...most of the other brands will require you to box it up and ship it back to the manufacturer.
