Ummm Laptop Dead?

Hey everyone having a little.....Big issue with my HP laptop (Yes Mac fans i know first issue its a PC).

Was on the laptop last night and the screen turned white with some red and blue static lines crossed through it, left me with no mouse, no keys, cant even Shut down properly so i had to do a force shut down.

Turned her back on and she stoped half way through startup left me with a black screen and again no way to shut her down, Forcing me to shut her down via power button again (this happend 2 more times before i finally got her up)

Finnally She powers up.....and then same screen as before except blue this time (at least there some of my favorite colors).

So left with no option i turn her off again by powerbutton (no shut down process available).

And now......No turn on what so ever, Press the power button and my lights flash on then off in 1 Sec intervals.

So all my tech friends out there, Any idea what the issue is? Is it fixable? or has my HP finnaly went to the big Powergrid in the Sky?

Thanks
John

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

Plugging a Keyboard into my laptop wouldnt matter seeing as i have no way of powering the laptop on, plugged into a wall or on its own she's not turning on.

What happens when you remove the battery and try to power it on with the power supply?

Maybe a faulted battery that's pulling down the power supply.

you need to disconnect the built in kbd via its ribbon cable, the usb board is simply to restore functionality as a bandaid until you get a replacement kbd if that is determined to be the cause

That being said, anyone have a link or some info on where i can read and find the diffrence between Laptop manufacture's. My house hold has been a dedicated HP house for a while. So in this hunt id like to be able to find a laptop to last longer than oooo i dont know 2.5 years (My last laptops lifespan)

The problem is (much like car manufacturers) each time they make changes, it's a roll of the dice as to which machine is awesome with flawless service record, and which are lemons.

New machines come out so frequently, it's difficult for anyone to say/test which is going to really last and which is going to be a turd.

I could say I've had awesome history with (insert brand here), and you'll get a dozen people shoot it down because Dad/brother/girlfriend had problems.

All that said, I've had great luck with Dell, and IBM. I used to work for HP, and they are a rollercoaster of awesome-to-crap-to-awesome.

Just find one in your budget, with the features you need, setup the way you like, and get a really good warranty for it.
