Anybody anticipating the LG Nexus 4? Supposed to be a beast, unfortunately memory may be a concern. Debating weather I should pick up an SG3 or wait for the LG..

I was just reading about this:

Looks pretty sweet. Still wish it had removable memory option...

Yea saw the press release right after I typed that. At $350 for an unlocked 16GB phone that will probably rival the s3 easily, it's a no brainer. Plus, wireless charging kicks ass. No LTE but I don't care bc I have tmobile.

Hi:
So now that I have Jelly Bean on my SIII and it's reading almost everything to me, how do I get it to read my texts to me when driving?
Thanks

Is there any easy way to browse the android App Store without an android device? I'm thinking about the nexus 7 tablets for my kids and I want to make sure I can get some good leaning apps. All the child specific tablets are junk.

Anyone have a chance to play around with 4.2? Just took delivery of a Nexus 4 yesterday and I must say the new platform is sweet. I don't know what the differences are from 4.1 as I am coming from ICS, but so far I like what I see.

My son dropped my SG2 into the toilet a few weeks ago. It works but the battery runs out in about 6 hours and suddenly shuts down at below 20% power.

I'm looking at the Nexus 4 as a replacement. I didn't want to buy a phone only a year after making the SG2 purchase but it's not looking good. At least I spend most of my time at my desk, in my car, or at home which means my charger is nearby.

If you order it now, you're probably looking at a month and a half wait for one. But for the price unlocked, it can't be beat.

Why doesn't my Droid 3 receive gmail or FB notifications while on Wi-Fi? If I go back to 3G, everything shows up.

Sounds like a wifi connection issue, as in a problem with your network. Mine does it occasionally if I need to reset my router.

My laptop and phones connect just fine. Are you suggesting that my router glitches or needs settings adjusted?

If your laptop is getting internet (not just connecting to wifi) then it should be fine.

My S3 really is not great on my network, slower then 3G. I think it's because I have an apple router.

Anyone know of a Android app that basically "echoes" a notification event to the outside world as a iPhone notification event?
I have a Bluetooth 4.0 device that is designed to listen for various notifications from a iPhone 4s or greater. But my phone is a Droid Razr MAXX. My Razr, like the iPhone 4s or iPhone 5 is Bluetooth 4.0 so the underlying protocol is there so...
I'm thinking this is definitely a Android operating system mod and nothing that an app can control.

Not knowing what BT device you are using, I cannot say. Just because BT is used as the communication protocol means little if the device expects proprietary messages from iOS.

Yeah. It's a Eco-Drive Proximity watch. It expects some proprietary protocol over BT 4.0. I'm sure the protocol is iPhone specific which is why I am looking for something to basically translate a Android notification event into a iPhone notification event and re-broadcast. Or something along those lines..

Wife and I are switching from Sprint to Verizon and have narrowed it down to two phones; Samsung Galaxy SIII or the Motorola Razr Maxx HD.

One brother has a GSIII and is still mostly happy after a few months. Another brother just got the Maxx HD and loves it.

We are leaning towards the Razr Maxx HD strictly for the battery life. We won't be rooting it or doing much more than very basic apps.

Thoughts from the experts??

Thank you in advance.

Still tryin'....

Not an expert, but still digging my SIII and my daughter loves her's. Did you check out the G Note II? My partner got one after watching me with my SIII and really likes it. He says it has huge battery life. Of course, it's more $$$.

So I deleted some apps from my S4 because I thought their permission requirements were too invasive. Then I was told that if I rooted my phone, I could select which permissions each app got and which to block.
Is this true? Is it safe? My S4 is just under a year old and I'm with Verizon. Would also love to delete some of that pre-loaded software I never use.
