Input Needed - New TV

Im thinking - this TV, or is it worth it to go for 3D? I am not really convinced of its advantages for movies and sports, but on video games it looked pretty cool.

I bought a 3D TV, because it was on sale for the same price and looked better than a standard plasma. (Better glass?)

There are only a handfull of 3D movies right now, so its not really worth it. You need $150 - $250 glasses for EACH person that wants to watch. A $200 3D blue ray player....... and if you go through the head unit, that should be 3D as well.

I really want to get a PS3 for 3D black ops..... but other then that...meh not worth it.

There is a giant TV thread on here somewhere with tons of geek shit in it. All I absorbed out of it, because hillrods can't read is, Plasma in a man cave (no ambient light) and LCD in well lit rooms. Also, sports are the only programming that you need more than 60Hz for (imo.)

I've seen the Panny VT-25 in person. It's fucking amazing. Pioneer Elite level amazing (at half the price). It happens to be 3D, but even if it wasn't it's still amazing.

it'll be obsolete in a month so it only pays to read the last three months worth of tech reviews on what you're looking for versus reading the whole site. kinda like speed reading with common sense.

Even better, go look at a bunch of sets in person. Write down the top 10 (make, model, etc) and search on AVS.

Buy the one with the least amount of complaints.
