Not sure EXCATLY what you mean but they do have an App out that allows you to write with a "pen" on the tablet and have it transcribed into typed letter and emIl or text the saved Doc

I am not sure WTF you mean? Yo can write with it on the tablet just fine and not have to carry "paper" at all

Natural? - Hmm - It writes and works - Not sure what's more natural than that?

I guess it is just user preference - I have used on and it feels like a pen

Personally rather type than write with a pen, I can never read my quick scribbles.

$800 seems to be a pretty popular price point. HP's slate comes in at the same price point, the iPAD comes in close when you add 3g and 32GB of memory.

but at a starting price of $800, that's a little much...

A 32gb 3g iPad is $730. A 32gb 4g capable Xoom is $800.

well, gotta think about what you'd use either tablet for, then justify the price.

i wouldn't have bought an ipad, but my bro sent me one for christmas. its a blast, but right now, its a big xfinity remote, and stuff...

Here in lies the dilemma, very few people have a problem that the ipad solves.

It has a ton of practical uses but at this point few people find them practical enough to justify the price. Most people that are buying them are buying them as a toy, or a nifty gadget. Much like the personal computer and the cell phone, in time they will become cost effective and more common place. In the more near term, I suspect that the netbook will effectively die out as a result.

^^^ Agreed.

The Xoom seems slightly overpriced, but remember it has a dual core processor.... might be worth the extra $. That being said, wait a few months for the iPad 2 and see what Apple comes out with.

That and Apps make the device. The apple store has TONS of apps specific for the iPad, while no one else can claim that. I think google will catch up, but it might be a year or so.

HP's 500 slate can. It runs windows 7.

I am not saying that the slate is better or worse than the iPad but it is a valid alternative.

Alot of companies already have netbook apps written, converting to a slate would probably be easier than converting the app to Android / iOS.

App that bitch up dude - That is what it is for - I use mine more and more everyday both business and pleasure - The thing is rock solid and just delivers - And they said there was no market for it - Hmmm, in about a year timespan and millions of revenue later, 20+ Mfgs are rushing to get one out

Tablets are here to stay and are slowly finding their way into the business world too

The possabilities in the business world are very exciting. If you watch the video for the HP slate on youtube you can see alot of business based ideas for the tablet comptuer. From insurance adjusters that can use the integrated camera and 3g to file claims forms in real time to doctors that can connect replace paper charts with electronic versions to highly mobile users that don't need a full functioning computer to stay connected. I have spoken to some of my clients that are replacing the laptop with a tablet and a desktop computer. Most state that the need for a laptop was simply email and basic document review from home. The extended battery life and light weight makes the table form factor a simple choice for those users.

all that being said, most people don't have a technology problem that is directly solved by ipads. However, those people who justify the expense are finding more and more uses for it every day.
