Retro computer, C64

Looks like someone is cashing in on us nostalgic 30 somethings.
http://www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_C64.aspx

I use to love my C64, damn tape drives, cartridges and big ass floppy disks. Totally foreign to kids now. Also had the Vic 20 before the 64. Damn I am old.

saw this few years back. Looks like they still havn't releashed it.

I bought a 64 few years back on ebay, since I always wanted one when Iz a kid. Had fun playing on the 128 with my friend.

many people will never learn how a pain in the ass floppy disks were back in the day. Took forever to format them. then just to save any info. Plus so many of the floppy disks were bad when new.

Remember using a hole punch or special disk punch to make your disk double sided?

I had that thing too. my list
Atari 400
800
Vic 20
C64
C128
the PC's

Looking back, what the hell did we do before the web with these things?
school papers and games. That's about all I could think of and it was exciting somehow. I remember typing 8 pages of code from Compute magazine to end up having some lame game appear and of course copy it on to cassette. Not sure what took longer, typing it or correcting every type-o after typing run and noticing it was not working. LOL! Fuckin' Olympus daisy wheel Printer sounded like a full auto cannon on a Apache chopper.

played GAMZ

games were awesome back then. Plus, i learned a lot about the operating system. DOS, and windows 3.1

i remember when I took the big step and did the media upgrade for my 486. CD rom and a sound card(with speakers)

I remember when the internet was still new and how long it took to download pron back then. I have to find some of my old disks and post up the pics. Crap was so low resolution.

Yup, I remember programming line by line for the Apple. What a pain just to make a square 'circle' bounce around.

I also remember the atari 2600 had a computing program with a stupid little pad thingy to input shit.

Then my first attempt at newer programming was accidentally signing up for a calculus class that required knowledge of Fortran. I missed that in the details. I got stuck learning calculus and Fortran concurrently before I even had taken a basic fortran class. What a nightmare.

Remember Sprites? I tried to create a few of them on my brothers C64.

I also remember typing out ALL my albums and printing them out. This was well before I learned about DB and 'sorting'. I had to keep going back and inserting artists in the middle of the list. LOL

Still have my //e (and it works yet). We had a Vic-20 when we were kids. I remember getting the first Mac back in HS. Used old TSR-80's and Ti-99/4 in junior high.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Porn games were not so good on the C64. The graphics were way sub-par. Hard to rub one out a young lad to square boobies.

Once again proving my theory that men and there porn drive technology.
Cameras, first motion picture camera, VCR's, camcorders, computers, the Web. We may be thinking with the wrong head most of the time but that 2nd head really comes up with some cool shit.
